By-elections tonight | Labour take both seats with huge swing from Tories

You’re right, and I think he will be far more radical when in power, but what does that approach say about the state of our democracy?
I’m not sure it’s the state of our democracy, but the state of our media and ability to critically think, along with most people only caring how their family are affected, not the general populus.

To be honest I am not bothered about left or right, we just need a government that actually cares about the country, we are on our knees due to Brexit, austerity and the pandemic
Chuck in the energy crisis, the Ukraine conflict (affected market prices) and the bumbling Liz Truss. Her and Kwatang were responsible for private Pension companies having to be propped up as they were on the brink of collapse. My pension pot is still 40% less than it was about 2 years ago.

Plus, the biggest shitter of all is we have had to increase our return journey fare from Stalybridge to City up to £10, was £6 before COVID.

I am not sure it does a large percentage are on such low wages they contribute very little to the coffers.
Maybe not contributing but at least not taking out of the Welfare pot which should be there to help those that really need/deserve it. Not getting into a debate on that as all the nutters on here will be out in force.

40% of those on benefits are in work.

WHen Tories talk about making work pay they don't go on to say the next bit is to do that they have to make their mates and donors put their hands in the pockets and pay more whilst personally accepting less and that ain't gonna happen

When you add pensions being a further 47.6% of the welfare budget, you begin to see how small the issue is about the disability benefit side of the welfare budget.
