Caicedo

If we actually had a half-decent centre forward we would be considered dangerous. Fact.

Top scorers outside the top 4, which means we are dangerous, which by your logic means we must have a half decent centre forward. Good stuff.

No it doesn't. Accept mediocrity and that's exactly what you'll get...ad infinitum.

I have severe doubts that he will be a top player but for the moment he is a useful player to have and does seem to be improving. He's a young lad in a foreign country for his first full season and he's scoring a few goals at the moment. He's worth keeping as a squad player for next season, I think he's earned the right to avoid the cull.

Personally, I don't care if the striker is knocking them in from three yards off his arse as long as the ball ends up in the back of the net on a regular basis. That's his job isn't it? Come to think of it, his goal against Hamberg was a quality finish wasn't it? Didn't he score a quality goal against England U-21s? Yes his other goals have been tap-ins, but how many of them did Corradi get? Samaras? Jo? He's young, he's raw, he's adjusting to life in a new country in the toughest league in the world. There's almost certainly going to be at least one top quality striker arriving in the summer, but for now, he's the best of a bad bunch, so let's get behind the kid. By the way, Sturridge is a better player in my opinion, but not in the lone striker role, because he lacks the physical strength needed to compete. I'd also question this lads mentality at the moment. Just ask Hamberg's centre halves which player gave them the toughest game!

correct, however i don't understand why Boj didn't start as he is certainly better than Big Phil.

i don't think anyone is arguing the fact that he has scored some goals it is just that he will not be anywhere near good enough for City next year, never mind signing one striker i would be extremely surprised if we didn't buy 3 in the summer - all of who will be considerably better than Phil.

From what I've seen since he returned from injury Bojinov is not better than Caicedo - on top of that Caicedo is forming really good partnerships with Robinho and Ireland and that is why he is first choice - he's a team player.

Big Phil is an extremely average player. He may one day be Championship class.
I don't know about banned but you are a tosspot - have you been asleep for all the goals that he has scored for us?

ive already stated im a fan of caicedo on other threads. he made one of the passes of the game yesterday. and if he does turn out to be another goater, is that such a bad thing?

His fluke and tap ins have been magnificent.

No pace, no skill and never once won a ball in the air on Saturday.

Also, stick to the subject and stop abusing members.

Cheers.

Similar to the famous shaun goater? Goater didn't really get his chance at the rags did he and then he came to us and showed his worth. Basically, I think this lad is prolific (in the box) and he does have that look of goater. Shaun wasn't the best player was he but he still stuck em away for us, now cass seems to be that sort of player, right place right time and all that like goater. But cass has age on his side, if he can get to grips with his fitness/speed then he could be a good striker. I also think the lad has a hell of a hard job leading a premiership side single handedly and scoring 7 goals in the process. Not taking out away from stevie, but how many has he scored? And his season has been amazing in some people's eyes, mine included, but don't take anything away from cass. He is doing his job, fact. I just hope we don't let somebody else take him off us and prove he's a clinical goalscorer, unless it's just on loan of course.
