Caicedo.

Everyone think Johnson is a good prospect and he's nearly 23? so as far as I'm concerned Caicedo is still a good prospect as well!! loan him out again I say.

Definitely like the guy.

Like Elanjo says, Drogba was shite at first. No need to say no more.

A couple of season loans could see him flourish. I'ts whether he will want to stay on in that capacity.

This whole Drogba argument is a bit strange. We have one example of a player who apparently was shit and is now good. If we are saying that that is the typical example then top clubs would be scouting the lower divisions for their worst players, safe in the knowledge that they will one day be world class. Exception not the rule, surely? That's not to say Caicedo won't one day be a world beater just that given the evidence so far, he probably won't.

I agree to a certain extent.

Arsene Wenger is a good example of buying athletic players and shaping them into what they eventually become. I think that Caicedo has a lot of potential, in the fact that he is the finished article physically. And as someone else said, i think he definitely has a lot of luck aound the goal area.

But yes, not everyone is going to become world beaters.. but there is something in him that leads me to think he could be.

I liked him from day1. I thought he had 'something', i wasn't sure what. Under Hughes towards the end of the season he had a decent/good goal scoring record. I would definatley keep him as 3/4th choice stiker.
He's young, knows where the net is and can learn from our present striker who all have different qualites

Certainly good enough to be a squad player, if he's accepting of playing a limited number of games then get him back here, otherwise sell.

If we're getting rid of strikers I'd like to see Santa Cruz off the wage bill, what use is a player (even a backup player) if he's never fit when you need him? We got stung badly there and sadly I can see us cutting our losses and paying to get rid.

I like him, and think he could become quite a good player, can't see him getting a chance in City though. There are a few strikers I would see leave before him.

Yes he is not top class now

But next season we may have a hell of alot of games, and have to use alot more players. proberbly against some lower level teams.

When he did play for us though he did have that weird gift, being in the right place and scoring.

You wouldn't start him away at Arsenal or Spurs, but maybe at places like Blackburn or Doncaster in a cup game and not risk a top striker getting kicked out of the game.

Put Caicedo into the last Stuart Pearce team and he'd be a hero. He's far better than Benjani, Jo or RSC and did a decent job for us in the 2nd half of 08/09. He may not be top 4 class but he certainly wouldn't look out of place in a mid-table Prem side.

Im pretty sure if he doesnt make it in football, he would get a good crack of the whip in american football. Built like a tank, no accleration or pace, just shuffles on throughout the game. Although he didnt do too badly in end of season run under Hughes that year.
