Calling all Blues in Boston / Massachusetts / New England

Re: Calling all Blues in Boston / Massachusetts / New Englan

One time in boot camp .... No one time in Boston, the Irish pub on Friend St by North Station - that was somehow partnered with McGann's (completely forget the name) ... I went in early to watch a rare City game on TV. I remember Goater in the team and thinking he was shocking :-) . Maybe like I do about Dzeko today. Some players need to age in your head afterwards.

Anyway I sat their alone in the bar watching the match. There must have been a big United game on later (can't remember the details) but the barman was adamant that I finish watching my game before the tv was turned over. The United crowd got bigger and bigger (say 30 people) and all sat there fuming that the big screen tv was showing lil old city and not their big build up. I wish my memory was better cos I can even remember the game but only the feeling of pride for being a City fan and surprising principles from the American barman.

Now that I think of it maybe it was a gay bar and the barman was cracking on to me. :-)

Great pub right there. One of the best of its sort in the US.

Jeez, whatever can this mean?

I hope he means "non-chain" (otherwise known as a series establishment that depresses me to no end).

That would probably have been the Irish Embassy Tony. A good spot in its day. Never watched a City game there though but got mightily drunk there many times... and no, in my memory, it wasn't a gay bar. There were plenty in that area though....:)

A great atmosphere from the Blues at the Banshee today—made my time here and our victory memorable.

Heading back home in a few weeks but there's a chance I may move to Boston permanently (long-term position). If so, there are worse places to spend Saturday and Sunday mornings.

Stand up for the champions!

Only a few; have a tendency to forget to take them.

Would love to have a copy of one photos from outside the pub, though.
