I'm getting sick of the over-reaction to reactions on this site. You make a comment about a player having a bad game or being in poor form and suddenly you get pounced upon being called a 'hater' and 'not a proper fan'. These people are trying to act as the thought police.
This is a forum for debate. If I think a player has done badly I'll say so. Yesterday I supported the lads throughout the game but when I got back I vented my spleen a bit on here. I'm sick to death of people having a go at people who dare to say anything other than 'all is great and we'll win the league'.
Okay, some people on here go too far at times but it's an internet forum. If they're booing and shouting abuse at our players during the game then yes they're out of order but they have every right to say it on here.
If people post something you don't agree with either ignore it or post a constructive response. Don't start a new thread calling everyone who dares to criticise any aspect of the club a 'hater'.
Ok, firstly I'll apologise for calling people who've jumped on the 'Lescott is shit' bandwagon as haters. But my point is that I don't see why we have to single out one player's performance every time we drop points. Sunday we cocked it up as a team. It was not just Lescott who stood far too far off all the Fulham players in the build up to the first goal. It was not Lescott who gave the foul away for the second goal. It was not Lescott who let a weak header go past him into the bottom corner.
I don't particularly think Lescott is in poor form, (no worse than Richards or Toure anyway) that is my opinion, and by your rules I am allowed to state that on here.
I am allowed to start a new topic about anything I choose. Or is it one rule for one and one for another when it comes to thought police? I don't think 'all is great at City and we'll win the league' either, anyone who does is pretty foolish. My point was that one player should not be singled out by City fans with what is not particularly constructive criticism.
I dont think its people are haters. Im sure every fan would hope for Lescott to become the best centre back in the world, but if you take his game apart there are weakness'
In the Air - Very good, and seems to be comfortable.
Pace - Not the fastest to cover the ground and could get caught out.
Tight Marking - Last couple of weeks he seems to have been turned more and more.
Facing Opponent - Again looks uncomfortable when an opposition player is running at him.
Positioning - Was caught ball watching on couple of occasions on Sunday.
That for me is quite worrying when we have ambitions to finish in the top 6. Im not trying to slag the guy off, just giving my constructive view.
