Calling all Lescott haters

Licker, have you ever actually watched an Everton match? Big Fish in small pond? I think you are trying to kiss some ass on here.

Gwladys, if you ever get to see as many games as i have you might start talking sense.
Lescott was arguably top man in our squad for the last three seasons, only Jagielka and Arteta came close, now that he's moved he's surrounded by better class players and i think he feels overawed.
He just needs time to get used to being amongst the top players and he will feel comfortable again, and the confidence will return.
Take your royal blue glasses off mate, and If theres any arse kissing to be done here, you can kiss mine.

Top man? he wasn't even our best defender. Anyone who says he was is a City Fan.

Correction, we miss Jagielka, if you watch the FA cup final last season, which Lescott played in, you could see what I mean.

So let me get this staight, you are calling Lescott average and are telling us to look to his England performances to prove you right.

What the fuck was "Jags" doing against Spain then? I know Torres and Villa can make the worlds best defenders look average but they didn't even have to try, i personally love his little "left, right, left, right, turn around and touch the ground" dance he did when Villa scored. Priceless.

Ok maybe 'average' was more of a knee-jerk reaction to some other comments I got. I stand by what I say though about Jagielka being our best defender.

Lets not forget Lescott was top class for you for 3 years not 3/4 of a season like Jag's. Could be a 3/4 of a season wonder for all we know, he was average at Sheff Utd.

Could his goals possibly have masked defensive displays though?

Gwladiator .........."Top man? he wasn't even our best defender. Anyone who says he was is a City Fan".

Is that the limit of your argument ?? please tell me who you think it was.

Lescott's first year he was voted player of the season played every game and scored ten goals.
Arteta was out on the wing and not playing very well, Jagielka wasnt even signed yet and when he did it took him a season to get into the team, the same as Baines who was being kept out of the side by Lescott playing Fullback, he got his England call up as a full back.
I have said that Jags pushed him close but that was only at the back end of last season.

So Gwlad, please let me know who you think was better.

On a separate note, how many times did Hangeland have to grab hold of Lescott - or Barry, or Adebayor - before that useless ref saw one and gave a penalty yesterday?

I counted five that should have been given which is obviously not enough for a penalty. Perhaps this is what Lescott is doing wrong from set pieces - not committing enough fouls.

Lescotts doing alright.

Slow to settle in then has looked quite solid especially away at Wigan!

Ok he didnt have the best of games yesterday but apart from Bridge and Petrov who did?

Sure he will come good in time!

Criticising and hating is not the same.

I'm getting sick of the over-reaction to reactions on this site. You make a comment about a player having a bad game or being in poor form and suddenly you get pounced upon being called a 'hater' and 'not a proper fan'. These people are trying to act as the thought police.

This is a forum for debate. If I think a player has done badly I'll say so. Yesterday I supported the lads throughout the game but when I got back I vented my spleen a bit on here. I'm sick to death of people having a go at people who dare to say anything other than 'all is great and we'll win the league'.

Okay, some people on here go too far at times but it's an internet forum. If they're booing and shouting abuse at our players during the game then yes they're out of order but they have every right to say it on here.

If people post something you don't agree with either ignore it or post a constructive response. Don't start a new thread calling everyone who dares to criticise any aspect of the club a 'hater'.
