My conclusion then is that basically a United Europe would basically descend into 'Lord of the flies'.

Sure i read a quote on here from a poster that said when it comes to this veto and being on the 'outside of Europe' that we are isolating ourselves. And their quote was along the lines of "we're about as isolated as the bloke stood on the docks when the Titanic set sail"

A single currency will not work basically as it's reliant on the larger economies propping up the smaller ones and relying on the feckless lazy economies such as the Greeks to work themselves out of debt,

No all countries agree that nukes are stupid it would never be used. Would be all normal warfare of course with the french surrendering 5 minutes in after Germany shout BOO across the border

I take the piss out of French myself all the time and call them cheese eating surrender monkeys to . The truth is though they have a perfectly good military machine and have very capable members of their armed forces. They have nothing to fear from anyone in Europe Britain and Germany included.

The only thing I can think of for the French wanting a unified Europe. Is firstly to carry on getting the massive subsides to there agricultural industry. Then secondly just to piss us of big time as we've had a lot bad blood in the past and fought at least 4 wars (that I can think of) to stop the unification of Europe.
