I was happy with the quality and depth of our squad, but not with the balance. I've stated all seasom we need minor tweaks rather than overhaul. I'm optimistic that these signings combined with the outs we have seen, and maybe one or two more, will provide that.

But the proof of the pudding is in the eating so I will wait and see how the new manager blends these players. My instincts tell me it will be a memorable season.

I'm happy. What a fantastic window. We've bought a lot but the main thing we've bought = goals. Negredo and Jovetic are going to prove the doubters wrong this season. I have a strange feeling that Negredo might be the one who finds the net the most. Nothing to back that up really, just a feeling.

A question though: do the rest of you think we are keeping Edin? I know Jovetic is very versatile and can line up as an AM or winger, but there was talk by the media (I know, I know) that Dzeko would be on his way out if we were successful in bringing these new strikers in. I know that the word from the club has been that Pelle wants to keep Dzeko, but the club would say that no matter what to keep his price high. Also interesting are the preseason games, where one gets the sense that certain players like Edin and Kolarov are being "looked at" by the new coaching staff.. possibly to help them make up their minds? Either way, there's no doubt some paper tomorrow will lead with a story about how either Kun or Dzeko flew into a rage today and demanded a transfer due to the bringing in of more attackers. I'm guessing the source will be "someone close to the club..."

Someone mentioned on another thread that maybe Dzeko could be sold in January. Guidetti isn't 100% fit, reckon he's about a month away. He said maybe the club wants to see how good Guidetti is in the league and if he's a success (if he stays clear of injuries and gets playing time, I believe he will), then they could sell Dzeko in January.

Reckon the club can get around £17m+ for Dzeko. Wouldn't be too bad of a deal for either sides.

I'm happy. We have strengthened in the key areas and I also think it's important we've chosen guys with the right personality fit. Better team spirit plus greater competition for places could make all the difference next year.
