Dipper or no dipper, yes he was overhyped but in terms of the Lampard Gerrard debate they were both as good as each other. In fact I have to honest given a choice I would rather have had the scouser playing at city.I don't know if I'd consider him a failure because Liverpool just weren't that good. I think he does get a bit overhyped in general though, to be honest. Really good player and everything but never in the top tier. Unlike Lampard.
He was a world class player and carried Liverpool to many of those trophy wins. The goals in the Fa cup final against West Ham were unbelievable. Liverpool were frankly never quite good enough to win the league while he was there and that isn’t down to him. Compare the teams Lampard was part of for example and its not fair to judge him solely on trophies won.
