Remembered more for falling flat on his face more than winning anything now.

I’d guess that Scousers remember him more for 2005 though.

I'm not arguing he wasn't a good player but when it mattered in the league he went missing or was at fault either partially or fully for his teams losses.

When you see what Phil Foden has already achieved domestically at City

• EFL Cup: 2017–18, 2018–19, 2019–20, 2020–21 (4)

I wonder if he regrets not leaving Liverpool for a better, more successful club?
You could argue he has already had more success as a manager domestically at Rangers than he ever did as a player.

King Colin never really reached the heights with England, but that was down to poor management. Colin was a box to box player who went wherever he was needed. With England he was confined to a limited area on the right of midfield.

That wasn't his fault either then. They were both shoehorned into positions that didn’t suit them, but both did their best.

Not winning the league is obviously a major thing but he pretty much single handedly turned that CL final round when they won it, and that's the biggie whether people on here want to admit that or not.

Let's not kid ourselves, he was a top player Gerrard, and he told united to fuck off when they were sounding him out (If I remember right)

Anyone (myself included) posting on a football forum about someone who played in the Premier League, for England and won several trophies being a ‘failure’ in a footballing sense is more than a bit comical tbh.

He was an excellent player, grew up watching him and probably thought of him as somewhat of an idol. There was no rivalry between us then so why would I have had anything against him?

I did of course like him even more when he had his gravitationally challenged moment. Try as I might I just can't say a bad thing about him as a player.
