Can we afford to let Barry go?

Quality on it, and always puts in a shift, but he's late too many times. A few examples of that tonight, and he was a little lucky not to get sent off

Yellow carded once, but there were two other occasions where he could have picked up another.
Yap. Was fortunate not to be sent off. A ref doing his job would've done it.
Especially if he'd still been at City ;-)

He'd have had his 5 yellows already if he was playing for us the challenges he's got away with now he's playing a Blue Dipper shirt.

Let's not forget about how much he got away with for us in the PL, before being found out in the CL.

As Aguero says, PL refs give preferential treatment to British players.

Anyone would think you weren't actually British!
Don't know how you could make such a deduction from my post—a statement that has been echoed before on BlueMoon by other Britons.

PMSL. Would you like a pic of my passport? I'm from then shitty Lower Broughton, ya know the M7, but I currently live in sunny US of A.

Barry is definitely still good enough to play for us but letting him go was definitely the right decision. Barry would have been cruelly exposed playing in our current system and anyone who thinks he is better than Fernandinho is deluded.

If we still played 4-2-3-1 or 4-3-3 then he would have been a key member of the first team still but the fact Pelle is playing 4-2-2-2 means all of Barry's weaknesses would have been exposed, especially if playing alongside Yaya.

From a selfish point of view it would of been ideal to keep Barry and use him as a sub when holding a lead but he is too good to be a sub. At this stage of his career he should be playing regular football and he is more than capable of getting back into the England set-up. Barry leaving was a good move for both parties.
