Can we have a poll on Dzeko....?

I think he gets a hard time from the fans and he knows we are on his back. I dont think we should get rid. He has popped up with some important goals ala Wigan.

Decent enough player happy to be in a "Squad" I guess.

I think he offers more than AJ though.

I am not going to criticise Dzeko because at least he was available for us.

Balotelli who yet again lets us down gets lorded on here like some fcking hero despite constantly letting us and himself down!
got to agree
being reliable and able to stay on the pitch are good qualities to have as a footballer
but Mario just scares defences either beacuse he can beat them with ease and make them look like cunts or he will just eat their faces for a laugh

I normally agree with what you say, but thats not true. Some players geta reputation unfortunately, and Balotelli is one of those. He certainly hasn't helped himself on occasions, but his reputation precedes him. However, my question was is Dzeko good enough. And when both fit and ready, would you really rather Dzeko playing than Balotelli- if so, thats bizarre.

Last night is not a fair performance to criticise a striker imo. We were beat in the midfield and couldn't get our forward players on the ball until the last twenty minutes. When we did he popped up with a goal. Whilst it wasn't a great performance from Dzeko, I think in this instance others should be taking the blame. You only have to look at Aguero' contribution to see what I'm saying.

14 /15 goals for us already this season.

Yeah, it is hard to look past that. But 4 did come in one game. Even at QPR he was having a shocker till he scored. I am just not sure he is good enough, in fact, I really don't think he is. But I suppose as a striker you need to score, and that is a decent stat. But in terms of all round game- poor.

-- Thu Jan 26, 2012 10:41 am --

Trust me, I am not basing this on last night. I am basing this on 90% of the games this season.

A simple Milner for Savic substitution after we went 1-0 up would have solved this.

He is good enough, we don't get enough crosses in the box for him to get onto, prime example the Tottenham game away, banged in crosses and he scored 4, he's not like Balo and Aguero who like it to feet, he'd prefer to run onto it, and his passing is great (one to AJ last night, one to AJ at Arsenal etc)

Won't find many better 'Target Men' with the passing and (on his day) touch he has, and still fairly young, Keep every day of the week, and sign a winger who will bang crosses onto his head (Bale, or even Valencia or a player like them)

Very much agree with this, but until we get players in who can supply and support him in that respect I have to say that the real downside for me is the inconsistency in his control and passing game, you can be shown numerous clips of simple balls that he has mis-controlled or mis-placed and yet you can be shown a clip where his control and passing has been world class, he needs to sort that out.
On another plus side, he's weighed in with some very important goals for us last season and this, so it's a yes from me.

Dzeko
Cant head, Cant control a ball, lazy, lacks skill, no pace (doesn't track back)!
I thought that Dzeko was bashed in every possible way here but you managed to find something new.

Instead of making this stupid post it would be better if you have asked why City doesn't have a player who can make two decent crosses in a row? In 2010/2011 season City was in the last place in all of the Premiership when it comes to crossing, with only 15% of success rate. How can someone ignore this stat?

Almost 9 out of 10 Man City crosses do not reach a City player.
