Can We Keep Everyone Happy?

Makes you wonder just how we'd have kept Carlos happy even if he hadn't spat his dummy in Munich...

With the benefit of hindsight, that was a blessing in disguise.

Edin will get his run of games in the Europa League, it's then up to him to take his chances and make it difficult for Mancini.

As for Silva, is it a coincidence that his dip in form has been since Nasri has been starting games?..........i think not

I'll sound like our Balkan friends here, but every time Dzeko plays well he is benched next game. We really can't lose with any of our 3 strikers, but we've been overplaying the heck out of Sergio thus far (didn't even have a summer rest I believe) and we still have the business end of the season to go.

With Edin it is NOT that he will start bitching and moaning or anything like that - I followed him for years and he's not that kind of PERSON.

That said - he is just not a BENCH PLAYER, meaning - if you pay close attention he is not as effective when coming off the bench, especially if it's too late in the game.

He is used to the key striker role (his entire professional career) and often needs some time to hit his stride...

His future at City is really tough to foresee for this exact reason...he is a hell of a player though, no doubt.

Looking at the best team in the world Barcalona, can anyone pick out the who the out and out wingers are? Alves & a other provide their width from full back, the one thing they have throughout the side is quick thinking players with excellent control. Aside from Puyol, they have great pace as well. We are some way of having this. In Clichy we have a bargin, as we do in Vinnie. In midfield only Yaya, David & Nasri have those qualities, but Milner is making progress. Barry is as Cantona put it, a water carrier and up front Mario and Sergio have the goods, so we are 3 players at least away from where we want to be. It not wingers that will give us what we need but quality full backs and a quality speedster at centre half that will help us win the league.

I think Dzeko needs to get more starts because he has more intangibles than other players, his hold up play and passing ability as was evidenced against Arsenal a few weeks ago.

When teams park the bus as they are starting to do, Dzeko can be extremely useful when he's on top of his game. Just start pumping the ball into the box from the wings and he'll score goals. It is unfair to expect him to score when he enters the game in the 80th minute.

As far as Dzeko wasting chances, his ratio of shots/goals is almost the same as Balo and Aguero.

I think Dzeko is happy at City overall because he has done well this season when he played and likes to play for a club that has a chance of winning championships. He's an ultimate team player and will continue to deliver when he plays.

I agree with pretty much all of that. To me he seems a bit of a confidence player. The team needs to be built through him and he needs to play every game to be at his best. Unfortunately I don't see Mancini doing that, and you're right, I don't see him being effective over the long term if he needs to deliver from the bench...
