We just don’t seem to be capable of full focus 90 minute error free performances this year so I’d be very surprised. I don’t even feel confident against Madrid with a lead tbh. Really pulling for us to give Silva the proper send off as a champion but I just don’t have a good feeling. That said, I was sure we’d do Spurs last year so who knows

I still can't believe the didn't rule out Jesus's header in the first leg. Was sure that they'd penalise him for the slight touch on their defender (Ramos?)!

maybe they will but it right in the 2nd leg and send jesus off ???

No denying how suspect our defence is but I have faith that we can do it my shout would be today’s back 4 and Fern to have his finest games in his own role should do it. My fear is not the defending in one off 90 min games but failure to put chances away. The team seems to be a throw back to Kk you score 3 we get 4. Also would have feared 2 legged games especially the second legs in a one off we can fix on the pitch .... get past Madrid 2nd leg then I think we’re in but forget the stats they look good but Sterling Mahrez Jesus even David have to convert When those inevitable early chances arise

The one that kept the most clean sheets in the Prem and only conceded two more goals than the “best defence of all time”?

I'm all for blind optimism, but we are talking about Madrid, Juve, PSG, Bayern, Barca here, not Norwich et al. Teams that have a go at us, score because we are defensively weak.

I don't think we'll win it. I can't remember too many teams winning either the PL or CL without a good defence. Ederson, Walker and Lapore are obviously not a problem, but the other two positions are a huge problem for us.

I honestly think the best chance we'd have would be to basically play like many other teams do against us. We should sit back and hit them on the break. It's almost the default European performance. It won't be pretty, but we should make sure that teams cannot score against us.

If we concede, the other team will sit back and wait to pick us off again. It's about time we showed other teams we can play differently.

Not wanting to be a doom and gloom merchant,but going on some of our defending since the restart and basically at times this season as well,we would need to improve it drastically to stand a chance...

I agree even today the defending was poor and that’s without Stones and Otamendi

We give away so many silly chances. Some of the teams we would have to beat have very clinical players. It's not impossible but everyone would have to play out of their skins every single game for us to win it.

The way I see it. Madrid will not play 10 men in defence, to hit us on the counter because they don't play that way or can't. Juventus on the other hand can. Then on to Barca/ Bayern anybody's guess. Possibly another semi final were we'll just miss out .imo.
