can we see some youth please

Kelechi,Denayer and Lopes need to be given an opportunity pre-season,only then can a decision be made as to what is best for their development and our team.

Is Rekik not going to make it? All I keep hearing is Lopez, Denayer and Kelechi......

Not at our place.

The other three stand as good a chance as any IMO.

Launching academy players and recruiting young talents are key success factors in European football. This is the main finding of issue number 111 of the CIES Football Observatory Big-5 Weekly Post. The figures refer to the average age at which current players joint the first team squad of their employer club.
Among the ten teams that integrated players in to the first team squad at the youngest age are many top flights European clubs, including Champions League semi-finalists Real Madrid and Barcelona. The average age of the first match played in the first team is 22.4 years for Real Madrid current squad members and 22.7 for Barcelona ones.
At the top of the tables per league are Real Sociedad (21.7 years), Nice (21.9), Werder Bremen (22.4), Cagliari (22.9) and Manchester United (22.9). Conversely, the recruitment policy of the following teams is based on experienced players: Atalanta (27.4), Eibar (26.8), Manchester City (26.6), Augsburg (25.3) and Guingamp (25.2).

Sorry cannot copy and paste this Euro[ean League table.

Perhaps as our academy matures we may change our policy?

the report has very little to do with teams playing academy players
it's based on the age at which a player gets a debut for a club

hence one of our fave songs about signing Phil Jones or Kun Aguero is evidence that we are poor at using Academy talents as one was 19 when breaking into the first team whilst the other was 22

i'm not surprised you find it relevant

Thanks for correction.
Apologies if this is irrelevant to the thread, merely a misunderstanding on my part.

Didn't watch the Toronto game, but seen the result on the OS,George Evans scored a beauty,so anyone who didn't see his goal,it well worth a look...

I think it's hard for us to implement youngsters the way it is for others because of our goals, we want to win the CL and the Premier League, where to then throwing a youngster whos unproven would be a risk, I agree that Iheanacho, Denayer and Lopes deserve a squad spot, I just think it's unrealistic to have 6 or 7 youth team players in there.
