As a white, midde aged, middle class, Sagitarian .....errrrr........slightly overweight, soon to be divorced, heterosexual (not into anything kinky btw) male of.....errrr.......average height, I really have no idea why anyone feels the need to broadcast their sexuality to the wider world or anything else about themselves for that matter.

These things should remain private.

I think it's great they have set up something like this. You have to remember that these guys will have had a lifetime of persecution and will constantly be made to feel unwelcome in certain environments (football being one of them). Things we take for granted like taking our partners out for the night could be a challenge for gay people due to ignorant, closed minded people. I'm not sure about you but when united were winning trebles and city were absolutely shit, despite all the persecution I felt a certain amount of pride and defiance. As if to say to all the mocking united fans "fuck you I'm a city fan and nothing is going to change that". Well this is just the same but on a much much grander scale.
