That doesn’t look like Lincoln?! ;-)

So, let me get this straight...

You're against the idea that... People should be paid a living wage.

Against the idea that... In the US that they should get healthcare as a Human right.

Against the idea of... clean water.

Against the idea that... Excess of wealth like Amazon and Google means actually paying tax.

Against the idea that... technology allows us to move beyond certain Life hazardous jobs where fossil fuels are killing the planet and, actually, there are more jobs in the Green sector than in coal etc.

Against the idea that... ceasing unnecessary war is, actually, good for us as Human Beings.

You, who has experienced all that, can't be moved...? Don't want your future family living in a better society?

"Some people just want to watch the world burn"- Alfred, quote from "The Dark Knight".

Fair enough, fella, no convincing you.
I'm afraid you've got it far from straight, your wishlist is, with a little adjustment, a wonderfully utopian situation we all can agree upon. The problem is, we've heard the same things, many times, from many more so called experts, before this juvenile economic illiterate decided to throw her hat into the ring. They had far more experience, far more Kudos, but they never managed to achieve anything like what you hear from AOC suggests, because It's all a tiny bit more difficult.

You're clearly in a time loop somewhere in the past!

Back in the mid 80s when computers came to regular schooling, I would bet thinking that they could run almost everything in the future was a foolish dreamer's paradise.

I would also hazard a guess that 20/25 years ago the princely sum of £3.25 an hour was enough to live on as minimum wage and the idea of £8 an hour minimum today, would have been seen as 'utopia'. Do you remember the resistance to this in the beginning? It was "we can't afford it" and then, lo and behold, we could afford it.

I doubt you would have thought that we'd have been able to talk to each other by visual means through a small box in your hand. A bit like guffawing at the handsets in 'Star Trek' as quaint.

If you don't think we can move forward, we won't. If you can see of no other way, then you won't.

Let the others who are not defined by such chains of limitations try and find a better way for tomorrow's society.

You are the limit of your expectations of the future.

Nice summary of progress there, and, ironically, the advances you cite have nothing
whatsoever with socialism, as these advances did not come from adopting it, quite the opposite.
I'm also afraid that it's your goodself, and AOC's followers who are in a time loop from the past, as once again,
this bankrupt system, which has proved itself to be so, has never been experienced by her followers, and it's
being presented as a refreshing new philosophy that needs to be tried, but it has, with devastating results.
On a side note, we're discussing this in the wrong thread, AOC has her own, but we've somehow moved over to
another, happy to switch to that, meanwhile we'll let Candace dominate this one ;)
