Capello GONE

Assuming the FA have saved a small fortune by not sacking him, can they now keep Wembley for big occasions, rather than every poxy little cup semi-final?

Worringly there are many people who think Pearce is a good option. I've no idea why people would want that.

This has happened at an annoying time for Spurs as with the court case sorted we could finally focus on the football. Interesting to see what happens here. My off key suggestion for England manager is Slaven Bilic.

It was a lose lose situation for you

Guilty = possible custodial sentence & damaged goods

Innocent = almost certainly the England job.

Can't believe you hadn't worked this out. Think he'll be followed out the door by Luca and Bale..........:)

Another manager won't do shit. Do you lot really think Harry could have fielded a team to beat Germany in 2010?
Maybe not..... but one that understood what was required to have a good go at it....Twitcher may not be master manager when it comes to tactics etc but fuck me players don't half love playing for him and that alone is more than can be said for Cappelo and will do for starters

I wasnt sure at first but havew realised i am really happy about this. Get a manager in for 6 months leading up.Get them buzzing and full of confidence and see what we can do. More excited now about the Euro's then i was before

If Mourinho gets the job I can see Modric & Bale staying at Spuds

I think we all make the same mistake of thinking that the England players are actually better than they are and when we don't win a World Cup or the Euro's, they immediately want the incumbant manager sacked. Some people have called Capello emotionless amongst other things, but Pearce used to bounce around like a village idiot and I know out of the two who I'd choose as manager.

The two biggest mistakes Capello made as manager were to allow Terry to come back as England captain and to stick his neck out for Terry to remain as England captain, but even then I suppose Capello may have a point if you believe a man is presumed innocent until proven guilty. Me personally I think the decision was correct to remove Terry after the CPS brough racism charges against him. I also believe it was Capello's overiding ambition to play his strongest team with the man whom he considers to be the best leader on the field of play that made his position unttenable.

Having said all of that, Capello is still one of the greatest managers of his age, but yet again another England manager gets sacked and the hooray brigade are out in force. So who's going to replace him? I can't really think of any managers who are available who could touch Capello's CV as a manager.

And finally, Capello also has the highest win percentage on any England manager in history. As somone else said previously, be careful what you wish for!!!
