The BBC website says Pearce will be in charge for this months friendly..........
so that's a 0-0 then
so that's a 0-0 then
Capello's a proven winner and a true professional, El Tel was a chirpier cockney version of Twitcher, but if you stack all three managers CV's together, I know which one I'd choose.......... It'd be the born winner with all the credits to his name.intheknow! said:Dribble said:I think we all make the same mistake of thinking that England are actually better than they are. Some people have called him emotionless amongst other things, but Pearce used to bounce around like a village idiot and I know out of the two who I'd choose as manager.
The two biggest mistakes Capello made as manager were to allow Terry to come back as England captain and to stick his neck out for Terry to remain as England captain, but even then I suppose Capello may have a point if you believe a man is presumed innocent until proven guilty. Me personally I think the decision was correct to remove Terry after the CPS brough racism charges against him. I also believe it was Capello's overiding ambition to play his strongest team with the man whom he considers to be the best leader on the field of play that made his position unttenable.
Having said all of that, Capello is still one of the greatest managers of his age, but yet again another England manager gets sacked and the hooray brigade are out in force. So who's going to replace him? I can't really think of any managers who are available who could touch Capello's CV as a manager.
And finally, Capello also has the highest win percentage on any England manager in history. As somone else said previously, be careful what you wish for!!!
But it was no fun watching & supporting England under Capello.
The best time as an England supporter was Euro 96. El Tel wasn't perfect and was in dispute with Alan Sugar most of his reign as England manager but neither were the players Gazza, Shearer and co, yet that summer was one of the best times. Ended in heartbreak (losing on penalties to Germans) but twas ever thus!!
Venables pissed all over him and so did Sven as a national coach.Dribble said:Capello's a proven winner and a true professional, El Tel was a chirpier cockney version of Twitcher, but if you stack all three managers CV's together, I know which one I'd choose.......... Craig, you can see what I can see............. Hopefully the reality of Capello's sacking is beginning to sink in to all the other posters who I believe are celebrating prematurely.craigsteel said:If Pearce takes over dont expect us to score at the euros, remember his period at city, deary deary me the worst ever
