i was asked this yesterday and straight away said the pts, beat them at anfield would springboard us towards the title with renewed belief, at the end of the day the title over the carling cup is a no brainer

Tough one. may depend on what happens in Arsenal/United game, might find ourselves on 3 points above 5th. If you could assure me of top 4 regardless of Anfield result then winning the cup is my choice. But otherwise, the 3 points.

There's some daft buggers on here for sure. Who in their right mind would throw a trophy in exchange for 3 points in a league we are very unlikely to win.

I love to see City winning trophies, so want the boys to do the business on Sunday.
However, the importance of winning the league from a strategic viewpoint is getting lost. It has only just dawned on me today that the league winners are in Pot 1 of the CL next season. For that reason, if the 3 points mean winning the league, then losing the COC would be bearable.
