They are still our bogey team.

We won there last season for the first time in ages.

If they play a full strength team, and we play a second string it will be a lot closer than it might otherwise be. We'll just about nick it, 2-1, hopefully.

I can't see Sunderland wanting to push on in this competition with the start they've had and risk injuries / distractions with the mindset of just looking to stay in the league again after only 3 games.

Saying that if defoe is playing against Exeter it will probably be a strong team - but they can't defend anything for their lives compared to the end of last season so we should be good with the reserves easily.

I think this will be like playing the Geordies a couple years ago away in the comp. A tricky fixture with us hopefully coming out on top. A win there again early doors could really put to bed the struggles with have there.

We won't be taking anywhere close to 6k but will probably be given that full upper behind the goal again that holds about 5,000+ with separation.

Remember us taking about 4,000+ up there before and that was for the opening of their new stadium that night.
