Greg Leigh for leftback?

I hope so,i dont believe he will let us down.

Under Mancini I would have said not a chance in hell, wouldn't be so surprised tonight. He is a good player for the EDS but you can never tell who will make the step up. If he starts we'll just have to hope he can cope with the pressure and play his normal game, and fair play to MP if he does pick him I say

I trust everybody knows that Dave Whelan broke his leg in an FA Cup final, but which one ?

Leg,not final.....

Why would you have said that? I understand that you feel the Mancini didn't do enough to promote academy products, but it has to be said that during his time at the club he gave debuts to 16 players who had come through the system (not including the likes of Trippier, Tutte, Ellabdeloui, Evans etc who made the bench for matchday squads). More often than not, though not exclusively, those appearance were cup games so there is every chance he may have given someone like Leigh a run out tonight. By all means, if you feel need, criticise him for the things he did wrong, but in this instance I think that comment is misguided and unfair.

Anyway I hope Greg gets a start this evening.

Before the final, there was some talk on BM about our fans staying on at the final whistle even we lost, as a sign of respect for Wigan (unlike just about every other club whose fans would desert the place the moment the game ended). I stayed behind to do this as did lots of other blues and got really pissed off when the Wigan fans booed our boys as they went up for their medals. For me that changed my whole view of their fans, so lets give em a good hiding tonight.

And I got soaked leaving the ground.

Right there with you on that one. I stayed too to clap our players, who despite being poor on the day still represent the club and were the same team more or less that have produced some incredible moments for us fans. Also wanted to give Wigan their deserved applause for winning against all odds and despite the fact they were clearly facing relegation. But as soon as they booed our players for no reason I left and hope that their club rots in the lower divisions. There is no intense rivalry between the two sides and out of respect they should not be booing the other team. There were quite a lot of City fans that stayed and clapped the Wigan players but they didn't deserve it!

Ditto. I was disgusted with their attitude.

The problem is that half these pie shifting inbreds are closet rags. The hotel I stayed in that night was full of them and hearing them talking during breakfast the following day a bunch near me were on about the final being the first away game they'd ever attended and for one of them it was the first game he'd been to all season.

I got a mate to drive me to the tiny station at Pombal, Central Portugal. I got the train to Porto and then the Metro to the airport. Stayed in hotel airport over night and then flew to Stansted. Stansted airport to Liverpool Street. An overnight at my mate's place at top of the "Cally" Road. Full English breakfast at the Cally Cafe. Met my daughter who came down from Heaton Chapel at Euston and off to Wembley.

90 minutes of torture followed by the journey in reverse getting home Sunday night at 11pm.

Seeing my daughter and the breakfast were great.

So.

I hope we smash them to smithereens tonight.

Not that it was Wigan's fault we lost at Wembley.

JJ.

PS. wagonman can see the future.

wagonman says a frustrating victory will take us into the next round.

ok fair point if you look at the stats, but unfortunately for him half of these debuts must have been against WBA in that rubbish league cup game, meaning most debuted players never got another look in! and then the likes of Chris Chantler (I think) getting 20 seconds v Juve on his birthday

I suppose with MP we are looking for him to give players a run of games to break in, rather than just the odd cup appearance then

3 of them were in that West Brom game, but yes you're right he didn't really give those sixteen graduates a run of games (whether or not any of them merited one is open to opinion). If Pellegrini feels able to give some of the youngsters a reasonable run in the squad then like you I'd be delighted - but it is up to them to earn that chance and at the moment, based on loan spells and EDS appearances, there aren't too many knocking on the door who could feel hard done by at this stage. Hopefully that can change.

Looks like the line up is:
Pantillimon
Greg Leigh
Lescott
Boyata
Richards
Rodwell
Garcia
Milner
Jovetić
Lopes
Dzeko

Is Guidetti injured?

Last I heard he's here in the US seeking a specialist about his knee/leg, I don't think he's injured or re injured per say.
