car battery help

alternator has two moving parts the rotor and the brushes, the brushes last for years and are replaceable, the rotor rarely fails ,any problem is audible. A simple check is to switch everything off, disconnect the earth from the battery then gently hold it near the post on the battery, looking for sparks. If you see any then something like a boot-light switch is faulty or a faulty car alarm is causing the drain. Can be hard to pinpoint with the number of components on a modern wiring loom. good luck with that

renault megane..il look on ebay

A Renault with electrical problems....Try replacing the whole car with an alternative brand. That should fix it.

On a serious note - the alternator should be easy to replace. I'd try and get a new one and have a go.
