Car Detailing.

All done for the day and as we speak a 1200 watt beast with six speed settings is winging it's way to me from Amazonian HQ alongside a giant two litre bottle of Meguires Gold Wash and conditioner and Lambswool Mittens to soak it's surface. Also some clay, a bottle of detailer and a tub of Meguiries compound. I have started so I'll finish. Bed time.

Very easy to say when your on the outside looking in : / At the end of the day, it's been left to me to get the job done but it's always nice to have someone like yourself to help me get through this tough week. Sometimes, when you can't fix the problem on your own, you need to make compromises and find the partner who can get the job done for you. So here Mr Hinch and for your kind perusal is the Merterk 1200 watt Dual Action random orbit polisher and buffer. The only negative I can see is the short power cord but appears to fit all my criteria. Don't have the expertise for full on rotary buffer, but this should afford a good compromise.

Excuse my ignorance, but why do you need a machine for this, versus putting the pads on a drill, for example?

It would be the heat factor from an inexperienced operative and possible damage to the paintwork through burn or buffer trail/hologram effect by bad technique which is the malady she has on her car along with swirl marks. It looks good out of the sun but if you scroll back through the thread there is an example of the problem to hand.

Check out the 92 reviews and they all seem happy to a man apart from the naff pads. https://www.halfords.com/motoring/car-cleaning/polishers-and-accessories/halfords-dual-action-car-polisher-409386.html

Will this suffice or is there better out there for A Few Dollars More

Or if it's pithier or at least easier to remember; "Buy cheap, buy twice"
Edit: Just seen that you have made your choice. Hope it turns out well.
