Carabao Cup 2nd Round | 26/27 Aug '25

Well done Grimsby. Much the better side in 90 minutes. Lucky rags take it to pens, but star strikers even fail at that.
People on Humberside will be talking about this for ever.
No dancing on the streets of Kuala Lumpur tonight.
Surrey in official mourning for a week.

Just a question. Is Grimsby considered to be Humberside? I didn't know that. I always thought that it was Hull and all points on the north bank of the Humber that were considered to be Humberside.

Minnows Man United, despite a brave fightback, can not hope to compete with a club with the massive resources of Grimsby Town. It was almost unfair and not a level playing field.

Praise Him from whom all blessings flow,
Praise Him ye creatures down below,
Praise Him above, ye heavenly host,
Praise Father, Son and Holy Ghost.

Amen!

They've been praised many times over recent years for "getting their business done early" and it happened again when they got Cunha and Mbueno - then Cesko - for £225M.

Sadly, the scum forgot to start their business by building from the back - with a f'kin goalie!

Maybe that's what Amorim was doing on his ouija board during the match - trying to summon the spirit of Stepney, Stam, Stiles.

Scum.

When it was a county for a short while, it covered both sides of the river but you’re probably right traditionally.

Grimsby is in NORTH EAST LINCOLNSHIRE ..... NOT Humberside!

I like that photo. It doesn't actually prove your point in itself, but I still like it (and I'll take your word for it on your point, by the way). By God but the estuary is broad there.
So that's where the rags nearly did their giant-killing act, eh? So near and yet so far.
