Carabao Cup Final plans

Tickets booked today, guy in the office said there were 6,700 left, so reckon it could go to open sale.

Staying in Shoreditch Thursday to Saturday with the family. Missus and daughter going home early afternoon Sunday and me and the boy are off to the match.

Thinking of driving down this time (most of way) but want to park up,then get public transport to Wembley,train/tube whatever.

Looking for ease on getting back to the car to be in and away back up north

I have seen in past on what some do or have done, but can't see anything in this thread, apart from ones staying the night somewhere.

Any advice appreciated

The best and easiest route to drive is to High Wycombe and get the overland train to Wembley Stadium. You`re quiet a way out and you get to avoid all the congestion of North London. The train is direct right into Wembley Stadium station which is right on the stadium forecourt. Take the M40 route as it`s much quieter than the M1. Use the Toll Road on the way down if you want, not needed on the return as it`s usually a quiet sunday evening on the roads. High Wycombe station is only a couple of miles off the motorway junction and the train station car park is cheap and next to the platform. Get your train tickets in advance via Chiltern Railways to reduce the cost. Catching the train on the way home is really well organised at the stadium.

By all accounts our two Mid Cheshire coaches will be dropping us off at The Green Man,after a stop off for a few pints elsewhere. For an able bodied person approx how many minutes is to walk from there to Wembley ?
With being on crutches just need a rough guide as to the time it may take me.

Not far mate from the green man, Down a hill and then about 5 mins? Coming back the hill can be an effort (especially after a day on the ale!)

on the train Saturday morning . get in at Euston station about 12-30 , book in two the hotel . then two days on the beer probably go to Camden town sat evening with the box off toys , on it again sunday , off two Wembley hopefully pick up the cup , then celebrate late in to the night ??

For info, Virgin Trains are running a relief train from Piccadilly to Euston for the League Cup final departing at 10.40, calling at Stockport and Macclesfield and arriving at Euston at 13.11.
The return working departs from Euston at 19.48 arriving at Piccadilly at 21.58. If the game goes to extra time / penalties this will be re-timed to depart at 20.30 arriving at 22.47.
Interestingly, there is also a 07.37 Euston to Piccadilly relief for the United v Liverpool match arriving at 10.41, so the Blues, London Rags and London Dippers will all be able to “wave” at each other just outside Piccadilly station !!!

Stopping over (travel lodge Wembley) Sunday night, any recommendations for places to go after celebrating the win in the Green man after the game? Cheers
