Carabao Cup - Oxford United (A) 25/09 1945hrs

About time we had a real cup tie with lower league opposition. Really looking forward to this.
Any one know roughly what allocation we will get??

I was there in 1986-87. It was my lad's first away game. He was 7 years old and in the queue for the turnstile a plod insisted on checking the contents of his Superted lunch box even to the extent of sniffing the orange squash in his flask in case it contained "the demon brew" as he put it. Absolutely pathetic. It ended up a dire 0-0 draw in that shed of a ground (Manor Ground).

I remember that 0-0 very well - the car wouldn't start, had to get a new battery, blasted down the M6 and A34 way over the speed limit and got in just before KO. Then spent 90mins wondering why I bothered.

Been drawn oxford and people are still moaning at who others have got, after a very favourable champions league draw too. Small time.
Oh look, Tom_mcfc moaning about City fans, I'm sure I've spotted that before.

Its a shame you never have anything positive to say on here, you must be an absolute joy to be in company with.

When do TV picks come out for this?

Not that we have a chance to be on TV given Liverpool and United both would be and it’s only two games per round Sky’s got ...

Alright lads, Oxford fan in peace.
You will probably only get about 12/1300 tickets. That’s the maximum we’ve ever given to away fans even when we played the Geordies at home in the fa Cup a couple of seasons ago. You’ll be on the right hand side of the North stand on the side of the pitch. Excellent view by the way. We’ve had talk of a temporary stand behind the goal before but it’s never happened so just watch this space on that one. It will defo sell out and tickets for the Home areas will only go to people on our data base before the draw was made. Plenty to eat and drink next to the ground but parking is limited although free. The streets near the ground are locals only and you’ll get clamped if you don’t have a permit thingy. Traffic is dire on the oxford ring road at that time of night too so public transport is your best bet. Welcome to oxford!

Thanks pal,and welcome.

Blimey a Brian Clarke commentary brings back the Piccadilly Radio memories with him giving players pet names The big Irishman ( quinny) The little genius Walshie) He had one for Beagrie cannot remember it Horton was responsible for the some of the best football in a nightmare period so big Franny gets rid of him to get Alan Ball then Walsh for Creaney then Bradbury How did it all go wrong ffs

He called Beagrie the Artful Dodger

Don’t think I’ve really seen anyone complaining? Pretty much everyone seems happy with both draws from what I’ve read.
