Carabao Cup R4 Draw | Spurs (A) | Wed 30 Oct 20:15

To be fair, there was a couple of consecutive seasons when we got very favourable draws in the domestic cups. I'm assuming the fourmidables season would have been one of them?

We did but if I remember these were the days the Dippers tossed it off, before they went on to winning quadruples.

Play the EDS boys.

Priority this season has to be PL and CL.
PL, CL and CWC.

Pep’s going to be all over the new Club World Cup after we’ve smashed the PL in court, he signs a new contract and wants to be the first club/coach to win it.

Ange ALWAYS wins an his second season, he says, and this is the easiest pot by far, so I’d expect his First XI(ish) versus our EDS and subs needing a game.

Hard to believe we can go there and win this one, but one never knows?! I hope whomever is supposed to play the following weekend is left in Manchester in cotton wool and we just let the chips fall where they may!

Cue the post match thread about spending all that money and going all that way to watch a spineless couldn't be arsed performance.

And yet they call us cheats

Not sure when this stat relates to, because they had three successive away ties in last year’s FA Cup (Wigan, Newport and Forest - and I suppose you could count the Wembley final as an away fixture if you’re playing City).

But in the Carabao they’ve now had 11 at home out of a possible 12 (not counting behind-closed-doors Lockdown season). Presumably every single one on the telly. Forget the Mayor’s assurances about them not getting public money to rebuild the Toilet, because they’re already subsidised to the hilt. You’d think there’d be a journalist out here curious enough to raise this.

Pep said this after the game last night;

In the next round, we’re going to play the players that play less minutes or the second team. We are not going to waste energy for this competition, for sure’.

I think this will be the case in this competition ongoing now. In a few years I can see teams in Europe (due to the extra games in Europe) no longer playing in the EFL Cup.
Shall I waste my energy going to watch the team you pick then, boss?

The last trip down there in the cup was a great night, but a shit journey on a Friday night, and there must have been 5000 blues in the away end.

Doubt we’ll be returning allocations, but the make-up of our away support there will be interesting to see.

Interesting why? If some regular away fans decide not to go,fair enough that's understandable. If others that don't normally get a chance to go ,go then that's good.

Awful draw but at least it seals how we approach the game. Spurs will be going full on for this - as they should having won bugger all for years. With our depleted squad - some of it down to injury, some it down to us not addressing blatant needs last summer - we can field the kids/reserves with a clear conscience and bow out thus not cramming up the Dec/Jan fixture list even further.

I think Pep will go stronger than you think in this, be similar to the Watford lineup, which should be enough to give Spurs a good game, who also will need to rotate a bit as have lots of games themselves

Enjoyed the trip to Spurs in Jan.
9000 blues. Atmosphere was superb. That concourse is dangerous mind at half time..
Will be swerving this one due to work commitments.
Which week will this be?

I’m not saying we’ll win but there are a couple of reasons we might.
They aren’t very good. (They were 2 minutes from losing to Coventry in the previous round).
Unless Pep really does pick a full EDS side (he won’t), he can’t help but put some high quality players on the pitch.
I sort of understand why some people think they want us to lose.
Personally, I hope we smash the shit out of them…..

W/C 4th November. Most likely the Wednesday as Spuds are playing on the Sunday and they’d never make a team play Sunday/Tuesday………
