Cardiff (FA Cup 4th Rd ) Post Match Thread

I am surprised at the criticism of Vinny, I thought he did what he had to do, okay, he did not extend himself but he looked assured to me, that said, I just love him, what a man!

On watching the press conference, Pep says Sane is out for a minimum of 2,3,4 weeks. Not 2-4 weeks.

Hopefully it does not turn out to be that serious as I doubt we know for sure at the moment. He's probably angry and wants to emphasise the seriousness of the issue

Clutching here, but a few players tweeted now and no mention of Sane. After Gundogan, Mendy, Jesus etc every player tweet mentioned them. Hopefully a sign that a couple of weeks is right.

He has copped a sore one but lucky in a way his ankle has rolled because if it doesn't his leg gets snapped.

Pray its bruised and a sprain because ligaments will be a nightmare.

Anyay too soon to speculate and he is in the best hands.

Strange I thought he played very well
I thought he played OK, but I'd say well within himself, like he'd been told to not dive in like he used too.

Anyway great performance in difficult circumstances, annoying that one of our best goals of the season didn't count, wonderful goal that, and not just for the finish.

Given it was a bit of a mix and match team (strong as it was), it was very pleasing to watch some of our football in the first half, and when you have the likes of Lawrenson, Keown, and Wright purring about, you know its good.

I thought we did a good containment after half time, yes they got a few half chances, but we never looked in any danger, and it was excellent game/effort management, summed up when the Cardiff forward came off looking like he'd just won the London marathon, and yet he'd barely had a touch.

Mason's performance though, shocking, why do we have to put up with referee's like that, disgraceful stuff, I hope Sane isn't as bad as reported, but it could have been far worse, it could have been season ending.

Would you say Diaz is ready to step in for Sane if Sane is out for any length of time? I think he might be

Other bonus is that Jesus must be close to a come back now.

Very worried for Vinny after today. I know he’s been out a while and so would be obviously a bit rusty. But he looked so slow and feared to jump to challenge for balls. So sad to be witnessing the demise of a great player and captain. When Laporte arrives I can’t see him getting a luck in. I’m praying I’m wrong and that he just needs a few games to get back to normal. But history tells me otherwise. He was looking for excuses today, so sad. If/when he is finished I hope the club keep him on to train him up to be Pep’s successor.

I don’t think there’s anything worrying about it. I’ve had in my mind that he’s finished at City for well over a year now, we have to move on and that’s what we are doing by signing Laporte. I’d be worried if we’re still relying on him to lead our defence, but that’s not the case anymore. Heartbreaking seeing Vinnie break down every few games, I want to remember him as a monster of a defender that he once was. I can’t bare to watch him struggle to keep up with the pace of games because he misses so many matches.

Just been onto a Cardiff forum and they are all embarrassed at Colin wankers tactics today, praising us to the heavens and fully understand why we slowed the game down to avoid serious injury to players , most are wanting Colin's style and tactics out of Cardiff, seems he is not fully liked in sheep country .
