He has only gone back on blue because he is losing money the gates at Cardiff have dropped like a stone since relegation so appeasing the fans will get more fans through the gate and make him more money he's not daft

I remember Gary James saying the Sheik and his representatives asked all about the club and the fans and what City meant to them when he bought the club

It was Khaldoon and some of the other representatives. They called me in on their first day in Manchester (sept 2008) and asked about the significance of the badge; the old badge; how the club was formed; biggest heroes (spent a lot of time on Bert Trautmann) and so on. They had also been given copies of my "Manchester A Football History" by Thaksin Shinawatra (he paid cash; I obviously would've been worried about a cheque not clearing!), and it was clear they had done their own research because of the questions they asked (Red rose on old badge etc.).
Whenever someone buys into a club the least they should do is read a bit about the club's history and get to grips with the significance of the team's shirt colour, ground, badge, fans etc. It's not like buying a team in Brooklyn and moving it to LA, our culture is different. Fortunately, City's owner and chairman know this (mind you Thaksin also spent more time in the old museum asking questions than Alistair Mackintosh had done!).
