This doesn't mean for the next match. But I see your point.

The quote I saw was in answer to a question about the Cardiff match. It’s probably our easiest remaining fixture (I know, I know ....) so you would imagine most of the players benched for Fulham will start. I wouldn’t be surprised to see Jesus, Stones, Fernandinho, Sané and Mahrez start.
Ok, maybe not not Mahrez :-)

Wonder if we could get PL exemption to wear our old red and black stripes for the game.

Bernard Halford is virtually the last remnant of Typical City, and known universally as the face of Old City, so it’d only be fitting.

I've been impressed with Cardiff. They are better technically than I thought and playing for their lives.

At this stage of the season, you do not want to play a team in this position. Manchester City will have to be 100% focused.

I agree with other comments: Sane, Jesus and Mahrez to start. I hope we do not miss Aguero too much. It would be good if he is on the bench as an option for us. No mistakes in this game, and over 90 minutes we should create a lot of chances.

I am hoping that they fail to beat Chelsea today....if that happens then a point at the Etihad will not be good enough for them and they will have to play for 3 and that might make life easier for us. If they go into this game with a 4 point gap and an 8 goal deficit with 7 remaining games, they will have to play for 3 points.

Can we afford not to start three of our best attacking players: Aguero (may not be through choice), Bernardo and Sterling?

On balance though I think I'd make the same choice
