Can we afford not to start three of our best attacking players: Aguero (may not be through choice), Bernardo and Sterling?

On balance though I think I'd make the same choice
I don’t think the players were too extended yesterday so i don’t think there will be as much rotation as expected

On balance I disagree. It’s essential we rotate at least 3 or 4 players in this match. We don’t prioritise, we do what’s best to try to win everything. We are not Liverpool.

Danilo in for Walker is not even a risk, it’s an improvement.

As is Stones in for Otamendi.

As is Fernandinho coming in as the holding midfielder.

Sané coming in... well some people want him in their starting line up anyway, so what’s the issue?

Jesus in for Aguero is the only downgrade, but that looks like being forced anyway due to injury.

That’s rotating 5 players and there is literally no risk to it. Our squad is amazing.

Ederson
Zinchenko
Laporte
Stones
Danilo
Fernandinho
KDB (try to play him into form in our easiest remaining game)
Bernardo/Gundogan
Sané
Jesus
Sterling

That’s a great team, with 5 changes.
That team should be enough to beat Cardiff. As you say with the fixture list in April, we simply have to rotate and City can do that because of the depth of our squad. KDB needs games and if we can get him 85% of last season's level he will be a massive asset.

Let’s hope the boys in blue keep the momentum going mid week. A chance for Sane to turn their full backs inside and out, Stones to come back into the fold and Fernandinho to dictate the pace of the game by smashing into one of their players early doors.

Fingers crossed on a cricket score push that goal difference up further.
