Great to see him doing well, though it's no surprise to anyone who's watched him in our EDS/academy.
I can't see him coming back but apparently we've got a buyback and 20% sell on.
It's baffling that there never seemed to be any be any prospect of Borges being promoted to the senior squad at City. We got a reasonable fee for him and the likely prospect of more in a couple of years but it have been nice to see him given a chance.
I guess Bobb was seen as a better fit for the senior squad.
The amount of goals and assists he had, should really have warranted him a go in the league cup early stages, I hope he does well, Ajax are a selling club so we may well get another wedge off him in the future. Not really.. Pep likes controlling pacey wingers more than just just pacey wingers.
Also if you believe the grapevine.. Ndala was rated higher than Borges, but we'll see if he makes it.

I'm not saying they are wrong but what is a young lad meant to think when he has banged in 20+ goals and double figure assist and still isn't even getting close to a game.Yeah it's weird.
Fans rated Borges but the staff didn't.
Staff rated Palmer and McAtee but both wanted to leave for game time.
Staff sent Perrone on loan and he looks like a 45 mil international defensive midfielder while Kalvin looks like a fringe player trying to break into the team!
I'm just gonna trust in Pep. Last year this time.. I never thought the key to winning the treble would be banishing Cancelo from the team!
Lavia would need to actually play to be > Phillips...I'm not saying they are wrong but what is a young lad meant to think when he has banged in 20+ goals and double figure assist and still isn't even getting close to a game.
Of course, you have to trust Pep but I'll just put out Lavia > Phillips and say no more lol
Don't keep up with Dutch football at all, but I barely recognise any of the names in the Ajax team, only a couple. Changed a lot in just a couple of years.Unlucky for him to catch a Ajax in crisis this year. Ajax is 16th/18 place with 6 games players and only 5 points, 17 behind the leader.
In one summer! 18 went out and 18 came in, which largely explains the inconsistency.Don't keep up with Dutch football at all, but I barely recognise any of the names in the Ajax team, only a couple. Changed a lot in just a couple of years.
The Borges situation you describe is down to fans preferring pacy wingers to slower, more technical ones.Yeah it's weird.

I think its his mothers surnamePlayed yesterday for Ajax (who are now top 5), seems to be using another name, Forbs.
