So did you think it was a daft idea or not?
Life is a mixed group. So I do think it's a daft idea.
However, far too many politicians these days seem to me to be unimprovably stupid, as well as being habitually mendacious narcissists/greasy-pole climbers in thrall to some kind of dangerously inane, unproven and ungrounded ideology. Netanyahu, Le Pen, Orban, Haider, Salvini, Bolsonaro, Trump, Johnson, Rees-Mogg, Gove, Farage et. al. are all morally repellent. And that's just the lying demagogues/nutters/incompetents on the right of the political spectrum.
So I do think that Ian Hughes's book could be worth a read (he includes examples from the Left as well).
And Lucas herself might have a point if the research I referenced holds up to closer scrutiny. I am not a psychologist, so I can't tell.
Plus, as the world increasingly starts to resemble the desolate, futuristic landscapes of Blade Runner 2049, maybe the Green Party have something to offer after all (though I have never voted for them).
