Cars

so lets turn this into 'the worst car you've ever owned' thread - that'll stop the nob waving

all you bimmer/merc lads, just repost the same pictures

as for me - it was my classic red 1978 Morris Marina 1.8 Super Deluxe - 1970's styling on 1940's Morris Minor running gear

This is identical to mine, E220 CDI Sport in black
It drives beautifully, but fuel economy is nowhere near as good as it is claimed

I do like the AMG mercs and AMG kit mercs at the moment and that looks mean! - What sort of MPG you getting out of it then?

You had a look at 520d M Sport? - One the guys i work with has one and reckons it's more economical than his wife's focus

On a proper 100 mile run, town driving at either end, motorway and duel carriageway, 37.5. It is an auto which I know will be less economical

I looked at the 520 and although the interior is really nice, I think the exterior is really bland, added to the fact it would have cost 3-4k more than the Merc

My old man is a die hard Bmer man.. hasn't had anything other than bmw's for at least 20 years - He's always had 5 series but when his previous shape 5 series was coming up for 3 years old he wanted a change like he normally does, but just like you've said he didn't like the outside - he thought it even looked Japanese so he went for a new BMW 4x4 instead

Worst car was my first company car, a clapped out diesel Ford escort estate that eventually suffered a heart attack on the M6 near Nuneaton
Second worse, a brand new Ford Mondeo when it replaced the Sierra. That car spent more time in the garage being repaired than it did on the road

Best car, a Honda Accord. Well that's the one I look back the fondest on

Had a clapped out one of these in green, the rachet on the electric window was fucked and sounded like a machine gun, was funny as fuck opening and closing it in some parts of Manchester.

Best (or favourite) was this, loved it, was just far too expensive for parts in the end.

Cheers Andy. I wouldn't dare drive it, I'm guessing might have something to do with why ony about 100 left out of the 500 originally sold.
Is it classic car insurance?

No due to mods to engine (stock they are 113bhp but very easy to improve) pay £400 for year all mods declared. I pay £100 per year for my mk1 golf on classic.

I only have 4 wheel drive cars these days for this reason.

Mrs MB keeps "suggesting" I get a "nice" car like audi or merc after about 5 minutes I start looking on Internet for one of these:

Least it's 4WD

This is not a nice cat, this is another old car ( nice in our first year of dating yes) that will now smell of mothballs.

-- Wed May 01, 2013 5:53 pm --
