CAS judgement: UEFA ban overturned, City exonerated (report out p603)

Yep, we’re now known as cheats despite our name being cleared in an independent court.
I have taken to pointing out to the accusers who have persisted after the CAS verdict that they are in the same boat as a certain Vladimir Putin, who has dismissed the CAS findings about Russian athletes guilty of drug cheating as the judgements of a court that has no credibility. Logically, anyone calling City cheats in the wake of the CAS verdict are saying the CAS is not fit for purpose, just like Putin. Maybe this point could also be made by other City fans.

This guy is going nowhere, I genuinely think he could do a Fergie, he clearly gets this club and be in charge for a long , long period, he clearly understands what the Yank owned clubs agenda is.

He is one of us, no one should doubt that, especially OUR OWN fans.

I have thought this so many times ocwr the years.

Had Pep signed for Utd back when Ferguson courted him, the narrative from day one would have been that he is there for the long term, to build a new dynasty, the utd way and all that.

From the first day he joined us, it was how short will his stay be, he'll do 3 years max thats just who he is, etc. Even now, it is framed in a way that it feels every season is beyond expectation and a short lived bonus. Would be great if he signed a longer spell.

It appears both sides are keeping this issue as private as possible. Question for PB - is it possible that it’s City that are the accusers - ie pursuing the PL & 9 clubs who wrote “the letters”, for damages as a result of their constant “accusations”

It just seems strange that there are no leaks from anyone associated with the PL - & it could be that it’s us that has some damaging accusations against the PL & some of its members - which they are defending.

Or is this wishful thinking?

I think it us keeping it quiet is totally expected. That is the way the club tend to do things.

The fact the PL are keeping it quiet could be as a result of the way Uefa didn't, and got criticised for it by the club, the lawyers and even CAS, at one point even potentially risking their own case by showing they could well be biased. I would guess the PL are looking to avoid any such suggestions.

It’s a well known fact in the media and other clubs supporters, about our club in recent times.
‘X will get bored and leave’:

1st it was the Owners
Then it was the Players
Now it’s the Manager

at this rate it’ll be
‘ShowSec will get bored and leave’ in a few years time.

One important thing to note about reports concerning the PL investigation into City is that they continue to peddle the tired line about claims at CAS being time-barred. The claims that were time-barred were identical to those for subsequent years which weren't time-barred and we had similar evidence to refute them. The whole time-barred point is a complete red herring, but one out bad-faith detractors nonetheless continue to throw around with a view to blackening our reputation.

You'll see a lot of it in subsequent reporting of the unfolding of the PL investigation if they don't find anything substantial to pin on us. Enables them to propagate the subtext that it's well known City were bang to rights but sneaked off on a technicality. Intellectually dishonest, for sure, but this seems not to matter in today's post-truth world.

CAS took the unusual step of answering criticism based on the time barred nonsense by pointing out that:
The alleged behaviour was at a time before ffp was in force and that “there is no evidence that it continued after ffp was in force”
Ive forgotten which item that referred to, Mubadala?
The defence for the other item would have been our main line of our audited accounts being a true and fair record. CAS were very clear that attempts to shake this were ludicrous.
This did not stop the grauniad from stating:
”City were cleared on a technicality by a corruptible body”
(CAS accused of being corruptible or conflation with UEFA?)
