Catastrophic transfers are killing us.

Palmer's bang average, he'll never win anything, £40m was a great deal for us but letting Delap go for buttons was a huge mistake. Unforgiveable from Txiki - Delap is a far better all round striker than Haaland will ever be

Other clubs have the right to to improve and succeed.

City have enjoyed a very clear supremacy in almost every element of world football for over a decade and it was unlikely to last.

The whole of the perfect storm of negative events could not have been forseen, elements possibly, but not the whole.

The reflections & revisionisms expressed on the thread iare partly understandable disapointment, but to suggest that the club has taken its eye off the ball or been negligently complacent is untrue.

To frame & clarify the subject, take our squad on 1st August (post Alvarez), and think clearly about our options.

Then think about, not just the injuries & illness's per se, but who WAS injured & ill.

The multiplyer effect of injuries, sickness, loss of form, confidence & the manner of some defeats rinse, rinse rinse and repeat, leads us to where we are today.

Shit happens and we've been up to our necks in it !!

Im with you on palmer. At the time i thought it a great deal and not a lot has changed my mind really.
Hes become a star because the media has pushed him so. They are probably enjoying that in their eyes we fucked up.

Cant see why there is a lot of rumours that we are looking at delap again. We only sold him a few months ago. He looked bang average at stoke (according to my stoke mate).

i like his all action style but cant see the club affectively admitting they fucked up by buying him back so soon at a huge loss. Plus why would he want to come back? He wasnt given a chance whilst here and would be second fiddle to haaland

Palmer's good but wouldn't get the freedom at City he gets at Chelsea, he got chance to stay and fair play he trusted himself elsewhere.

.....and at Hull.

Hes a competent young player whose probably around his natural level now.

He might go one to a wet spam, pal arse type but unlikely to be an elite world star.

Good luck to the lad, he's had Kun & Erling to get ahead of.

Yeah think youre bob on. He’d have decent enough games for us and thats about it.
Presume if we have a buy back clause there is also a sell on clause
