Catastrophic transfers are killing us.

Also, we all saw Palmer at City. Anyone who says they knew he would have broken out like this for City is full of shit. He was never going to get games at attacking mid.
Got to say I thought he was quality and was gutted we sold him. An away European game where sterling couldn’t score for toffee. He came on and bagged coolly.
But agree a lot of ur other points

To think of the shit that Sterling and Mahrez used to receive!?Talk about careful what you wish for?!Doku and Savinho are quite simply nowhere near their level and a big part of our ineffectiveness. Was only 70 mill for the pair tho?!!…

Salah struggled at his age. I remember seeing him play for Basle before he made his name. He was sensational in some respects but very raw. Savinho is raw. So is Doku. They should be impact subs. Savinho played well vs Everton. It was his best game in a City shirt.
I agree to some extent, but the problem is that the alternative would be Grealish and Bernardo out wide. Bernardo is a legend but he's goosed and neither have pace which we lack.

Sterling and Mahrez played in teams with Kompany, peak Walker, peak KdB, David Silva, peak Fernandinho, Rodri, etc etc - I'd look good in that team!! :)

Let's see how Doku/Savinho get on once we've got a better team around them!

Give them time. They are gifted iny my opinion but way below the level yet of Mahrez and Sterling who were much-maligned. How stupid that now looks.

City need more dynamic midfielders who can break into the box. Part of the low assists relates to City carrying passengers like Gundogan and de Bruyne who should not be playing in our side.

City are broken now. We will have to rebuild but I should remind everyone that Mancini's team died under Pellegrini and Pep had to rebuild a side. So he's done it before at City so we should be believe he can do it again.

City will be massively upgraded by the return to fitness of Dias and Bobb, and later by Rodri.

something did break a bit indeed in terms of transfer planning. maybe the success we had caused it, thinking we can get away with it. maybe Txiki got tired. he said himself he was ready to retire before the treble season. other talked him into to continue. same as Walker he was ready to go, Ederson was ready to go. some players want to leave we talk them into staying. some others we say we wont hold onto anyone bring a good offer and off you can go. maybe it was so we dont need to find replacements? or delay their replacements another two years?

another thing, Berrada was really highly rated inside City, even went that far how much of a help he became to Txiki on transfer dealings. he left and no sign of replacement. apparently we solved it internally albeit no names provided at all. so we had a Txiki getting old and bit tired of overseeing not just City but the CFG model in some way and ready to retire who was helped by Berrada more and more over the year.
we got a bit comfortable in this sense as well.

Khaldoon needs to get involved a bit more and make sure recruitment is top class. recently it isnt at all. why would he have top class manager, academy, infrastructure, network model if we let ourselves down on recruitment despite often spending serious sums on flops or squad players only.
some great points, as the chairman, Khaldoon has a critical role in overseeing the club's long-term strategy, including recruitment.

Recent transfer windows have seen mixed results. While some of our signings have been successful, others have been less impactful. Spending the sorts of sums on players who don't fit the team's needs or fail to perform consistently will always hinder progress, as much as trying to keep players as sticking plasters - I always think of Kompany, he knew he was near the end of being the best, so he went. A more strategic approach to recruitment, focusing on the right types and top class abilities and getting long-term planning back on track is essential.

Revamping our recruitment strategy to bring in new players with a clear vision and understanding of the club's needs, with proper, considered succession planning for when key figures like Txiki eventually retire or decide they want to move on, and as I mentioned above, this is something Khaldoon needs to be more hands-on as well as in overseeing the recruitment process.

The last thing for me is our scouting networks and player and data analysis teams, they for sure need significant strengthening to identify potential signings who can make an immediate impact, and provide better intel for upcoming talent

For me our recent struggles in recruitment and planning highlight the need for a much more proactive and strategic approach. Sounds easy, but things have been left too long - we have been so successful (its been brilliant hasn't it?) and we have the money, the infrastructure and the manager to do it. So addressing these areas will help our club regain its footing and get back to competing at the highest level. - And yes I have been drinking!

That’s a valid point but I know that I’ve seen all I need to….Nowhere near title winning standard..simpl

Fair point but I have seen enough now.Absolutely nowhere near title winning standard, but that’s what you get for an average of £35 mill each!?…

I didn't think he was terrible, but I never looked at him and thought "he's going to be in the golden boot hunt"

He just didn't project as a starter to me in any position for us at that point and we were right to sell him at the time.

That being said, I'm genuinely happy for him that he bet on himself like this and became a star.
