worst signing possible and he dosent even suit are play

I'm definitely not too excited too but I'm afraid we're gonna see it if Mancini stays. Then we'll see how it would go..
dang, signing Cavani would not excite you guys? Seems like Falcao is getting hate too. So who would excite everyone? (besides Ronaldo/Messi).

They would not excite me on amounts often quoted about them, I don't have lot of pleasure about such business and being robbed.

I'd take Falcao in heartbeat at not more than 40, Cavani not even that, I don't think he fits City at all and I don't think he is as good as he is made to be.

I'd rather have players like Kiessling, Jackson Martinez, Michu, or (not realistic) Suarez and Lukaku; or Aubameyang (who I don't know much about but who's stats of 16 goals and 8 assists in Ligue 1 look great, even better since he is 23 years old). Would add that Bony guy from Vitesse to Aubameyang group too.

All of them are either proven in more clubs/national teams than Cavani, or are young talents.

The thing is i would be totally excited if we got Cavani or Falco If we had a proper midfield or winger. there is no point in spending that much money when u know he wont score. fixing the midfield giving it pace and width would be much more exciting then in 1 years time go for that big marque striker.

That too, I hate "let's sign any most talked striker for billion" school of thoughts while there are other areas that need improvements more.

And if we're going to sign a marquee striker than there's no point in doing it in Chelsea "we'll pay more than you ask" way.

its called football manager syndrome. they assume spending 2491748712 amount for a new striker would all of a sudden start scoring for fun.. and yet totally forget that the ball needs to get there. and then that 24125151 striker would be considered a flop and wasted money. Baines prio 1 to replace clchy hes been consistent and getting better year after year. isco for pace replacing nasri that has done fuk all and rodwell steping into yayas spot with bennat back up encase jack gets injured. and watch us win the title. simple

That on end sounded as FM one too, tbh, hehe

There's no formula for easy title but there is to not do it on redneck way and plan transfers carefully and then spend money wisely.

I do believe that people at City who are at the job to do that stuff now are ones who are able to do it on proper way though. Hopefully they'd resist to give Mancini Cavani if he stays, just don't have good feeling about that one. Wouldn't mind Falcao as long as it is not some stupid money but Cavani, no.

Anyone who thinks we should sign Cavani for the ridiculous fee that had been set, rather than Falcao for the reasonable price (considering how good he is) that's been set hasn't put much thought into this.
Aguero is better than Cavani.
Falcao is better than Aguero.
So why would we pay more for Cavani than we would for Falcao.

After watching Cavani in the World Cup qualifiers, I agree with the assessment that he is inferior to both Aguero and Falcao. In addition it would be crazy to try and negotiate a sensible fee with De Lorentiis, who is clearly one of the most egotistical people involved in Italian football. At the best of times Italian clubs are terribly difficult to deal with, and De Lorentiis sits at the apex of those with overblown egos.

Besides, Cavani isn't worth anywhere near 60 mil. I actually think we would be much better off with someone like Higuain, who would be half the price.

But to me the game breaker is Falcao. If we use the funds from the sale of Mario, possibly Edin and Tevez, then Falcao becomes realistically affordable.

Firstly, Cavani would be the "worst sigining possible"???
Maybe I will be accused of taking that comment to literal, but how can Cavani be classed as the "worst sigining possible"???
If I can find the time I'll write you off a list of hundreds of players that are, or could be described as the "worst signing possible", far more so than Cavani.

I happen to agree with you on the midfield concerns, and it is something I expect the club to address this summer, along with the striker situation. Balotelli still hasn't been replaced and one, possibly two more forwards could be leaving, so it isn't something to be ignored.

if he was for a more reasonable price 20-25 mill (even that is to much for him) i would say thats an Ok purchase since we have money to give that new striker the support (since he likes to play with pace which is something we dont have at all). but spending the reported 60 mill or what ever stupid figure that is being touted would not only hamstring us this summer but would not solve our most immediate and number 1 issue the lack of pace and width and we will have no money to rectify that problem. so the smarter thing would be to invest that 60 mill if where actually going to be spending it on a revamped midfield and width and then what ever is left purchase a benteke, lukaku, heguine for the 15-20 mill mark. its called sensible purchasing

As you say the £60million is only "touted", its speculation pure and simple.
That is way too much for Cavani, I agree, the media have a few quotes from his current club stating thats what he'll cost.
Napoli's owner is doing his job, trying to get the most for the player.
It doesnt mean we or any other club will actually pay that figure (infact I expect City and nearly every other intrested party would walk away from that figure).
Silly season is on its way, were going to hear numerous ridiculous stories about players and fee's for a few months now.

Like Ive already stated I think we'll see new additions in midfield as well as attack, as for saying how many will come in, we just dont know.
We dont know our budget this summer, let alone how many we are looking to get rid of.
