be great to have him but that is a lot of money!

He'd practically be replacing two players/sets of wages (Dzeko, Balotelli) though, and most top line strikers are going to ask for wages of £200k+-ish. It's that or take a risk on a less prolific one like Yilmaz. We need someone to finish chances, players like Suarez are great but miss too many chances just like Tevez and Aguero, so we should target that sort of player if a player like Aguero or Tevez leaves. We need a goal scorer, someone with a good shots-to-goals ratio, and Cavani has the 6th best of all of Europe's top strikers and has the workrate + strength for the PL. Alternatives would be Higuain, Lewandowski, and of course Falcao (but maybe someone else has convinced him?).

City are set to make Cavani the highest-paid player in the Premier League with a stunning £13.3million-per-year deal

Manchester City are prepared to make Edinson Cavani the best-paid player in England, with a staggering £13.3million-per-year deal close to being agreed.

But City will have to battle it out with Real Madrid, who are fast emerging as their main rivals for the Napoli forward.

City have made significant progress with their attempts to land the Uruguay frontman after weeks of talks with the player’s representatives.

And it is understood a deal regarding Cavani’s personal terms is near to being finalised, with the package —including incentives and commercial bonuses — worth a massive £256,000 per week. The deal would eclipse that of City striker Carlos Tevez and Manchester United’s Wayne Rooney, who both earn in the region of £250,000 per week.

Cavani, along with Chelsea target Radamel Falcao, will be one of the most sought-after players during the summer transfer window.

In addition to his lucrative wages, the 26-year-old also has a £52m release clause — though City would look to negotiate a lower transfer fee.

Cash-rich Paris Saint-Germain have also shown an interest in Cavani, but it is Real who City are most worried about. It is understood the deal offered by the Spanish club incorporates a lower basic wage with bigger bonuses and image-rights fees, but Cavani is believed to prefer a move to Madrid over Manchester.

Now I'm going to take the wages with a massive pinch of salt, as they still have no clue and never have, but if we're planning on making him the highest paid player in the premier league forgive me for sounding like a spoilt dick when I say, fuck no.

Body characteristics you'd think he'd be like a Dzeko square-peg-round-hole, but he has a deadly free kick and scores plenty from outside the box (has Dzeko had one since Spurs away?) . He would dominate the Premier League.

Could be heavily incentivised with that figure being the absolute max. Wouldn't be shocking if it's true that Silva's deal is like that.

Would be over the moon if we got him (so no doubt he'll go to chelsea like hazard)

If he comes, hopefully we don't draw Napoli in the CL so his life isn't threatened...
