I can see the headlines now "Cavani turns down Real Madrid to join Manchester City"

Just when you thought things couldn't get any better...........

I think it'll be more like, "Real snub Cavani so he joins moneybags City for £500k per week"

I'll believe that when I see it.

"City threaten to sacrifice five new born babies stolen from their mothers in Montevideo in order to force Cavani to committ to 235£ Million transfer in the face of Real interest"

Benitez is not the manager yet, and may have options elsewhere.

Yes, but he is supposedly hot fave for the job and his negotiations are at an advanced stage... looks like Rafa may be holding final "yes" to see what happens in PSG as that looks his preferred destination ... I don't think he has many options in the PL, right?

If Benitez did say he wants Dzeko as a priority, then we should hope he goes to Napoli and his other options do not pan out...

Personally, I believe Mancini or Allegri will go to PSG, leaving Benitez out for Napoli...

If Benitez goes to Napoli and he is pressuring for Dzeko, this may be a big tipping point for this transfer and may make Dzeko feel more happy about a move with the manager making him a priority... excited and nervous days ahead !
Benitez is favourite.

But would Dzeko join Napoli. At best doubtful

Come on Marv... a little ego stroking for Dzeko and some pump up talk on how he would be central to their Serie A and UCL campaigns next season would easily tip some of the most egotistic players in the world... combine that with Pellegrini's chat with Dzeko about next seasons plans and a even Dzeko could agree...

I think this will also highly depend on what Pellegrini wants... if he wants Dzeko to stay or go.

I honestly hope Dzeko stays. If we bring in a decent winger or two he could perform close to what we believe Cavani will and we'll save the money and time (to bed Cavani in).

Not saying this is likely to happen, just my thoughts.

Cavani Speculation/News

If Dzeko goes in a swap with Cavani, think this is the first of our big signings to be used in this way,ie to be good enough to get someone else in who is considered better,or a step up...the fruits of buying quality are now realised in resale value and more importantly that the player is sought after, unlike the genre of RSC Bridge etc...

Re: Cavani Speculation/News

"Cavani signs for money bags city"

cavani puts pen to paper at mega rich city in a deal woth £356,000,000,000,000.
city Qatari owner Al Fahim is said to be over the moon. Cavani was said to prefer a move to madrid but was forced a move to city.

But we will lose more , in terms of player value, on Dzeko than we have done on Bridge

Cavani Speculation/News

Maybe so,the point I am making is that we can now step up our quality by trading better players,we started this project by having to overpay for players and now, whatever Napoli value Dzeko at,at least we are in a position to be able to trade upwards,hopefully...

Re: Cavani Speculation/News

The Dzeko stuff is encouraging but new quotes by Cavani's father are anything but.

“Edinson is very happy in Italy and I am not saying that to make the fans or directors happy. It is the truth,” Luis Cavani told Ovacion Digital.

“This is his career and about business, though. If he does leave Italy, then I think his future will be in Spain.”
