if its true that we have give up, what a joke, did it with hazard and van persie and look what happened, but its fine for us to spend silly amounts on the 28 year old fernandinho who as 5 caps for brazil and jesus navas who is a very average player and is also 27, oh well i just hope chelsea dont get him now!! does anyone reckon we will go for anyone else or stick with the donkey edin ?

One of the main problems last season was when we got the ball, we didn't get it forward quick enough, and ended up camped outside the oppositions box and couldn't break through.

Given we had the exact same strike force as the year before (plus Tevez for longer, Mario for less) in theory, there was no change in the strikers.

Fernandinho should help (along with navas, possibly isco if he signs) us to move the ball forward much quicker so we don't just end up camped outside the oppositions box all game. (which not only stops us scoring but is very boring).

Really, it's the creation not the strikers themselves. Last year, we weren't clinical, but a lot of chances were forced "half chances" with tiny gaps between defenders to goal etc...

I still think we need to sign a striker though, just saying.

If it's true we pulled out cos of the price you have to look at us spunking stupid money on Fernandinho. Yes we need to strengthen in that department but if last season showed us anything is that we are still creating tons of chances but not putting them away. A world class striker should have been number 1 on the list. We really are shit at this transfer business aren't we.

Did the transfer window close already and I missed it?

a. Really premature to call our performance in this transfer window shit
b. Putting chances away has as much to do with the quality of the chance as anything else, and the first thing City has done is add pace and mobility to the midfield that should improve the quality of chances
c. Every team sussed out Mancini's plan A, and kept the middle of the field packed, so no matter who had been in the team would have struggled mightily to score.
d. There is an abundance of world class striking talent on our books already
e. There is a point at which paying way over the odds on a player puts pressure on that player and ruins them.. and puts pressure and tension into the locker room , with factors that don't mimic Football Manager.

I think we created a ton of chances last season just had no one to put them away. Aguero was injured a lot, Dzeko couldn't trap a bag of sand and Tevez started poorly but came into some form towards the end.

Don't believe we have actually paid that much for Fernandinho, we'll find out when the accounts come out .. IF Cavani is costing £55M, we should not get him and all these arguments of its not our money, well yes it is, we pay for tickets and merchandise, and if sanctions are placed on us for overspending then it is OUR club that will be punished. But anyway the £55M can go on 2 quality players instead of 1 person who has had a couple of good seasons and is now considered to be the best player in the world by some, we keep forgetting we have a couple of world class strikers already, just cos last season was a bit dry doesn't mean next season will be under a new manager

Rag?
Dzeko the donkey? The same donkey who is the top scorer in the league for us? The same donkey who tore the Bundesliga apart when his team played to his style(fast counter attacking)?

i agree to be honest but i still think we need a striker because aguero isnt always fully fit, dzeko can be class but then he can be terrible the next game, tevez looks like hes off to juve and guidetti, we dont know if he can handle this league yet but its just my opinion and everyone as one, you just cant seem to say anything bad about the club without getting attacked at on here haha
