if its true that we have give up, what a joke, did it with hazard and van persie and look what happened, but its fine for us to spend silly amounts on the 28 year old fernandinho who as 5 caps for brazil and jesus navas who is a very average player and is also 27, oh well i just hope chelsea dont get him now!! does anyone reckon we will go for anyone else or stick with the donkey edin ? oh it may be not true anyway, it is the mail after all! just wait till something is confirmed
Rag?
Dzeko the donkey? The same donkey who is the top scorer in the league for us? The same donkey who tore the Bundesliga apart when his team played to his style(fast counter attacking)?
haha and thats why we didnt win anything and we came second by quite a few points, dzeko can be quality but we are not the right team for him and oh yeah im not surprised there, cant say nothing bad or have your own opinion on here without being called a rag, shock.
Oh so Tevez and Aguero are not even partly responsible for our lack of silverware? And Dzeko had to do it all by himself whilst sitting on the bench? And when he did come on he scored some important goals without which we would have finished with even less points. All in a team which didn't suit his style a teeny weeny bit.

If Dzeko stays and starts most games next season, he will be top scorer next season.

chelsea are on a high with mourinho coming back add cavani and it will give they players a boost, players on a high will perform better, might give them the edge over us in the title race. This is why i think will should not cool our intrest in him
couldnt agree more if we dont sign cavani after our interest in him for the last 2 years and let mourinho just step in and take him heads should roll.this will be like rvp all over imo,all this dzeko shite im hearing pfffft seriously some deluded people on here if they think he will turn into a better player.
exactly what i have been trying to say but i just get called a ''rag''.

If it's true we pulled out cos of the price you have to look at us spunking stupid money on Fernandinho. Yes we need to strengthen in that department but if last season showed us anything is that we are still creating tons of chances but not putting them away. A world class striker should have been number 1 on the list. We really are shit at this transfer business aren't we.

Did the transfer window close already and I missed it?

a. Really premature to call our performance in this transfer window shit
b. Putting chances away has as much to do with the quality of the chance as anything else, and the first thing City has done is add pace and mobility to the midfield that should improve the quality of chances
c. Every team sussed out Mancini's plan A, and kept the middle of the field packed, so no matter who had been in the team would have struggled mightily to score.
d. There is an abundance of world class striking talent on our books already
e. There is a point at which paying way over the odds on a player puts pressure on that player and ruins them.. and puts pressure and tension into the locker room , with factors that don't mimic Football Manager.

a. Not really. Jesus is a good signing but with an element of risk and we payed over the top with no other team after him. And Fernandinho I think will be good for us but again we over payed. By shit in the transfer window I meant we seem fine paying silly money for good players but refuse to spend silly money for world class players.

b. Yeah I think better chances will be created but what if Aguero gets injured again and the others perform how they did last season?

c. Have to see how the new manager tries to combat this.

d. Tevez could be on his way out, Aguero might have another injury plagued season and I wouldn't call Dzeko world class by any stretch of the imagination. So if Tevez leaves that is one world class striker we have, hardly an abundance.

e. I don't buy that at all. Great players are great no matter the money. There are countless example of clubs paying high fees and the player going on to have a great season.

I'm not spitting the dummy out and demanding we spend a billion quid on players I just feel it's really important we add a world class striker to our team for next season. There's still time and we might still do that so we'll just have to wait and see.

Re: Cavani Speculation/News (page 151 onwards)

Marquee signings are about more than the player, they can re-motivate an entire team as Van Persie's signing for United did. It helped give them fresh belief. I reckon Mourinho + Cavani could have a similar effect on Chelsea. There was a lot of talk we wanted one big marquee signing this summer but if Cavani goes to Chelsea, it's hard to see (Bale and Ronaldo seem unlikely) and instead it looks like we'll sign all these high quality 'components' (Fernandinho, Navas) and future stars (Isco) instead. Hopefully it's enough.

A better player? He is a striker and strikers need to score goals. Which he did. All in a team were the build up play was as slow as a tortoise. Slow build up = opposing team get back and defend = more players in final third = less room to manoeuvre and create.

This is probably not true, and it is far fetched but what if...

We are letting Napoli know (think) Chelsea are the only ones in for Cavani so that they can haggle down his price and we nip in for him at the end, and if Chelsea have to pay the buyout clause, we match it.

If Chelsea match the buyout can we then match it or does the first club get the player?

Lots of clubs can offer the buyout clause fee it's up to the club and the player to decide which bid they accept.
