A lot of Chelsea fans seem to think Cavani to Chelsea will be announced by Mourinho during his first press conference on Monday.

Really hope not, it will be Hazard all over again. Really don't know why we don't just pay what is needed.

Given we over payed a little for Fernandinho why don't we do the same with Cavani?

If the rumours are true, penny pinching will have us finishing second again.

Or third. The rags aren't going away as much as we would fucking love them to.

Really can't see the rags doing well next season. Chelsea will be our main threat and if we allow them to get our number one choice, a world class goal scorer, which was our problem last year, we will struggle again.

A better player? He is a striker and strikers need to score goals. Which he did. All in a team were the build up play was as slow as a tortoise. Slow build up = opposing team get back and defend = more players in final third = less room to manoeuvre and create.

I can't let this myth about creativity being the problem last season grow. The problem was absolutely NOT creating chances, it was the lack of really clinical finishing that was the problem. Let me illustrate with a few examples:

West Ham away 0-0 65% possession, 22 shots, 5 on target and no goals.

Sunderland away 0-1 67% possession, 23 shots, 7 on target and no goals.

QPR away 0-0 69% possession, 17 shots, 4 on target and no goals.

Swansea away 0-0 62% possession, 12 shots, 3 on target and no goals.

There's 9 points lost of the 11 that we ended up behind the rags. 74 shots, 19 on target and not a single fucking goal. That's why IMO we need a clinical finisher, I don't much care who he is as long as he's effective.
Touche, but i still believe that if Dzeko played for say Manchester Utd or Real Madrid, he would absolutely kill it. He wouldn't stop scoring. If Dzeko stays then we shall see next season, if he still looks as if he has just donated a kidney then fair enough, tell him to jog on. But with Navas and Fernandinho we will have a much needed injection of pace which will benefit the whole team imo.
I was talking to my rag brother-in law, before we got Dzeko.
He said United had earlier been interested in Dzeko; but decided not to sign him because of his lack of pace.
In spite of this I still think he will be very successful at his next club

Not really atleast we adressed the other issues such as lack of pace from the midfield and lack of width although i would still like us to get cavani

They haven't strengthened yet, Rooney is being rubbished by their support and they've got Moyes. If City complete signing of Navas and CFC get Cavani, Utd would need Bale or Ronaldo to compete

Re: Cavani Speculation/News (page 151 onwards)

I just don't get it.

We paid money on Garcia, Maicon (wages) and Sinclair last season when we could have got RVP. This cost us the league.

Fernandinho may well be good but 30m for 28 yr old with 5 caps is overpaying. We lose out on the likes of Cavani and it could very well cost us the league again.

All journalists seem pretty convinced he is going to Chelsea.

Re: Cavani Speculation/News (page 151 onwards)

So Falcao is gone, Cavani could be on his way to Chelsea what does that realistically leave us with?

Sticking with Dzeko unfortunately.
