I think Cavani will go to Chelsea now.

1. Jose is regarded as the best manager (currently active) in the world and is more attractive to top players than Pellegrini.

2. Chelsea have Benitez's 'son' to offer in an exchange deal. We don't.

As excellent as Cavani is I feel we'd be better off spending the 55m he'd command on another CL standard midfielder and a CL standard centre back however.

It has already been noted Dzeko is prefered over Torres, De Laurentiis openly spoke about sending one of his representatives to us to sort a cash + Dzeko deal to get Cavani, we offered 25m which did get turned down as more money was required.

Torres will not got to Napoli, he is on 170k a week, would he drop what? 60-70k to leave what is now Jose Mourinhos Chelsea?

Just because Bentiez is now manager doesn't mean his first pick will be Torres, he is not the Liverpool player we once knew and there are far better value for money strikers in Europe available with a more reliable goal return than him.

Chelsea would love to be in our situation and have Dzeko, they are willing to pay the big cash difference on top of him whilst we are obviously not.

If we offered 40m Euros and Dzeko we would be signing Cavani in my opinion.

I would take that. It's not my money though.

40 million plus Dzeko?! What on earth are we valuing him at now?!

40m euros is about 34m pounds, Edin is a 20m pounds player.

Cavani has a buyout of 53m pounds, so 40m euros + Edin works out about 1m just over the buyout of Cavani.

If Chelsea want Dzeko I would sell him to them but only on the condition that they give us Mata to sort out the left hand side. Then buy Cavani outright cash.

Cavani...........Aguero

Mata...................Silva..................Navas

that would give some defences something to think about, mind you not sure how many goals we would concede either, but it would be fun.

This one isn't going to happen I think people need to get over it and then we can sign someone else.

Tevez signing a new contract is more important IMO.

Kiam, like the rest of us,you have no idea what is about to happen.

And as much as I admire Tevez,Cavani signing would be far more beneficial to our cause.
True I know only as much as the next man but I know this Napoli owner is a cretin and I wouldn't trust him at all I doubt City will do business with them.

Can't see Chelsea selling Mata. Just as Abramovich has been redeemed in the fans eyes bringing in Mourinho, he won't surely then go and sell their best player and fans favourite. Certainly not to us.

I'd offer no more than £20 million plus Dzeko, take it or leave. Then i'd move on if they refused.

We offered £25m+ Edin which got turned down according to Di Marzio.

If we added another £10m we would get him in my opinion.
