If City are still serious in buying Cavani then with the Tevez sale it will give us the extra cash to take it up to 40m euros plus Dzeko.

Which will leave us with two strikers .

Where's Guidetti off to? The Midfielders will share the goalscoring burden. Face it we are not going to pay the full buy out, it will be cash + player or we will move on. I wouldn't mind Dzeko staying but his heart is not at the club after last Summer's balls up in trying to sell him.

Re: Sky Sports: cavani open to Mourinho

Yep I saw that and was gutted until I actually watched the interview where he says Pellegrini first!

When was the last time he played for the first team ? To have just two strikers and a guy that hasn't even played a handful of games for us is laughable at the level we are playing at .

Who says we wouldn't use our scouts (they must be paid for something after all) and find a promising cheap striker for <£10million to bump up the striker count? Holland, Germany, France, South America, even Poland (that's where Dortmund found Lewandowski after all) for all we know could have the next gem. We'd have two ready made superstars (Cavani, Aguero) already so wouldn't need a third.

He is not worth that amount and is a waste of money. Would rather buy Lukaku off Chelski.

What is a 26 year old striker who scored 36 goals in 37 starts last season worth though?

Imo he's one of the 2 or 3 best #9's in the world. Van Pursie only scored 29 in 40 starts by comparison. You would have to say he's worth at least 40-50 million in today's market.

I don't see why we wouldn't pay the full buy out clause provided we could get sensible fees for Dzeko or Tevez or both. It is a question of how badly do we need this player to score the chances which we would create with the new players we have already signed and those remaining outstanding on Pellegrinis list added to the creative players we already have in the squad. Which is why I think nothing more will be heard about Cavani until after Pellegrini has his feet firmly under the table at MCFC.

All this dzeko part exchange stuff is really annoying me ! Especially when people say they would give dzeko plus £20 mill ! Wtf !!! . id even have to have a long hard think about a straight swap ! . Mancini was holding dzeko back. Bangs four in against spurs and then gets dropped for the next game ! . Worst thing to do to an on form striker . Mancini ripped dzekos confidence apart . He'll get bag loads under pelligrini .

I'm sure people want transfers just for the sake of gettin a new player in .

Bangs four in against spurs

I hate the way the Dzeko fanboys cling to this.
