in all honesty who says we haven't matched what ADL wants or very very close to it?

there was a reason he name dropped chelsea last week and it wasn't for anybody else's benefit but his own!

It was Begiristain who signed Ibrahimovic for €69.884 million when he was at Barcelona and that didn't turn out in what was expected.

Only because Messi was jealous of Ibra and threatened to leave.

Man that is some shit you have spouted

is it possible Cavani might base his decision on what we do in the market prior to his arrival.

It's pretty obvious we've told him about our plans (players and management), is it plausible that he might say "get that done, and I'm in".

If something like that is true, then we might be holding back until he presses the issue with ADL to join us and then they accept a more appropriate offer.

Cavani is not the issue though mate, it's De Laurentiis and his ridiculous valuation.

We have seen today with Cavani liking to the fact of playing under Pellegrini, him coming here is not an issue of you ask me.

With that comment he made regarding Pellegrini, it does look like Txiki has explained the future and direction of the club.

I agree bud.

What I meant is that it seems right now, that no one is forcing ADL's hand in either direction. He's been left to his own devices to orchestrate this bidding war. Perhaps if we showed our intent by getting Isco and maybe Thiago in early doors, Cavani might knock on ADL's door and say "I want to go to City". Once the player makes a statement like that the game totally changes in my opinion.

What d'you reckon?

I get the feeling Cavani's preferences are for Madrid and the Chavs before us. If we are interested and we want to secure his services then we have no option but to offer the full release clause amount now. That would certainly smoke out ADL and bring the matter to a head. If we wait and try and save a few million then we will end up with another Hazard situation.

Re: Sky Sports: cavani open to Mourinho

They make you sick don't they, same on the daily mail app, the headline only mentions cavani wanting a move to Chelsea to play under mourinho when he actually mentions pelligrini first! They just print and report what they want to hear and cavani coming to us would hurt the rag fuckers

If City are still serious in buying Cavani then with the Tevez sale it will give us the extra cash to take it up to 40m euros plus Dzeko.

Laporta had more to do with this deal than Begiristain did also it had nothing to do with ibra being crap more the fact he fell out with Guardiola!

RVP went for £25m at 29 years old and offered Utd 2/3 seasons of 20 plus goals a season.

Cavani is 3 years younger so a buyer would expect twice the no. of goals

If Chelsea or City get him, they'd expect to be winning trophies while he was on their books, and that is invaluable.

If City or Chelsea start with their current forward line ups, neither promise to be successful

True in one sense as Ibra was one of top Strikers in Europe but it was still Begiristain who took the flak for the deal.

All this dzeko part exchange stuff is really annoying me ! Especially when people say they would give dzeko plus £20 mill ! Wtf !!! . id even have to have a long hard think about a straight swap ! . Mancini was holding dzeko back. Bangs four in against spurs and then gets dropped for the next game ! . Worst thing to do to an on form striker . Mancini ripped dzekos confidence apart . He'll get bag loads under pelligrini .

I'm sure people want transfers just for the sake of gettin a new player in .

Bangs four in against spurs

I hate the way the Dzeko fanboys cling to this.

It's pretty simple, really.

Dzeko at City: 106 games, 40 goals
Cavani at Napoli: 138 games, 104 goals

Dzeko +20m sounds about right to me, maybe a bit low actually. He's only worth what he can do on the pitch.

Completely agree mate, I hope Txiki is doing all he can to turn Cavani's head.

It would not suprise me that we are not doing this already though, I think we all know we the club will not pay what Napoli want, the next best option is to convice Cavani in forcing out a move to us.

-- Mon Jun 10, 2013 7:35 pm --

It's been noted that our offer of 25m pounds + Edin has been turned away mate, I think we are looking more at 35m pounds + Edin.

What are the minutes per goal ratios for both?
