If It's true we've pulled out of the running for cavani we should put out an official statement, if only to get in first before the inevitable 'cavani snubs city' headlines

Too late...

Cavani or not Tevez should be moved on this summer.

Timing is everything and I believe the time has come.

I understand why we need to sell tevez now (though we could extend his contract if he is willing which i would be happy with as he still has so much to offer in his all around play)

What i was saying was though if we do sell tevez now, we need to replace him with someone...we cannot go into a season with just kun and dzeko and expect to get anywhere near top 2

Not so sure Simon.

The thought of signing Isco gives me a warm glow inside.

I see him as the replacement for Tevez.

If we could upgrade Dzeko with Cavani then we can go very far

Cavani is shamelessly flirting with Madrid. Who are our other options? Mario Gomez maybe?

Isco could be a fantastic signing for us, but he will not replace Tevez, they are totally different & offer different things to the team.

Last summer the club felt the strike force could be upgraded by signing RVP. They failed but the intention was there.

A season of misfiring followed... it wasn't all down to tactics, there were MANY wasted chances.

Summer arrives, Tevez has one foot out the door - so even if Cavani isn't possible, we need at least one name to freshen up our strike force IMO. Even if it's not a huge marquee signing but someone like Soldado, Yilmaz, Jovetic or even a rough diamond like Luis Muriel.

We can add playmakers all day long but Aguero (what if his hamstring goes again?) + Dzeko + injured and untested Guidetti would be a huge gamble going into the most demanding league in the world + three other competitions.

Well we better get in another striker as it looks as if Carlos is leaving for Juventus.

Carlos Tevez on the front on the Tuttosport this morning with speculation that he's 'keen' to leave City for Juventus.

you are talking about replacing a very experienced world class player (tevez) with an inexperienced, never played in the premier league, player (isco) .......that is a big risk and a lot of responsibility

with cavani i would agree with you we would do well...without replacing tevez then no ( i dont see isco as a replacement for tevez)
