Just seen the interview on SSN with ADL. He seemed more pre-occupied with us than he did with his new manager.

As for what he said he blatantly accused us of trying to circumvent FFP rules by creating a second company to do transfer dealings ! That is a highly libellous statement and I hope our Board take the necessary action if those allegations are unfounded. I hope we have nothing more to do with this egocentric oaf ever again - he pissed in our pipes once too often.

So it seems that after weeks of speculation, weeks of press releases, false information no doubt a million and one tweets and all manner of arguing it boils down to these facts

1) We have been in touch with Napoli about Cavani
2) There have been discussions about his transfer to our club
3) ADL has confirmed that a deal could be struck with City if we allow Dzeko to go in part ex
4) The value of Cavani is still 63m Euros
5) We need to lower the value of Dzeko because ADL thinks it too high
6) He accepts we beilieve the asking price of 63m Euros is too steep
7) At this moment he is not prepared to lower the valuation
8) The player is at the Confed cup
9) His mother said we were interested
10) The players dad says he would like to go to Madrid
11) The player says no problem with playing under Pellegrini
12) He won't decide on his future till after the Confed cup is over
13) He loves Napoli but is wanting away
14) Some Napoli fans have decided enough is enough and have told him to make his mind up
15) Dzeko doesn't want to go to Naples
16) In effect we are still at square one.

I don't think we will sign Cavani but hope we do, this transfer boils down to the willingness of ADL to negotiate and unless forced too he isn't going to budge from the stance or position he has occupied for the last few weeks. I suspect we will draw a line under this in the next week or so and if there is no movement on Naples part we will walk away. However miracles can happen I personally rate the sucess of this transfer at about 1/10 of happening unless well respected ITKs on here tell me otherwise. This is not a request for PMs. :-)

I'm not overly gutted and 53m would have been far too much, as long as we get a strong, cheaper alternative, I can't say I'd be disappointed.
