There is bound to be a couple of left field choices other than Cavani. As supporters we will choose players we have heard about but looking at City's MO we will probably use our scouting network more or sign one or two of Pellegrini's recommendations.

A year from now, the same people saying how we 'must' have Cavani, will be wanking themselves into a coma about someone else who they haven't yet heard of, & saying how we 'must' have him.

Lets find & sign that bloke now & bollocks to Cavani.

Demaio, Yilmaz, Martinez and Shaarawy.

I hope we bid for Remy or Long (preferably) as a third choice striker with pace and good finishing. Long would be a vital British talent too. Think he'd be great punt.

just a case of deciding who that bloke is. Tend to agree that some posters have a tendency towards "new toys"

For sure NN. Fingers crossed our scouts know what they are doing.

Re: Cavani Speculation/News 3 (or 4)

Just read a story online during dinner break, Italian sports reporter said the race for Cavani is now only between Madrid and Chelsea. Player would prefer Madrid to Premier League, but Chelsea closing in, and could sign him during a meeting on Wednesday for 58m euros plus bonus. Doesnt mention us at all

With Mourinho mentioning FFPR they might not be prepared to take a gamble.

I'm not sure Long qualifies as association grown. I believe he joined Reading 6 months before his 19th birthday, so hasn't spent the requisite 3 years under the association to qualify as association grown ( homegrown ). As far as I can make out he would count as one of our 17 foreign players if we signed him.

I stand to be corrected on that.
